| I think the kids and I are going to try and surprise DH this weekend for Father's Day. While we non-rev a lot I've never gone on a flight piloted by him. Are there any special things I should keep in mind? Like is it Kosher to ride on the crew shuttle van to the hotel or not? Can we all enjoy the continental breakfast or is that not okay? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance... Jackie

| What a great Father's Day gift!!! Kudos to you for thinking of it. My one time experiance of traveling on hubby's flight (of course he knew I was going to be there) but a couple times meeting him on overnights. . . yes to the hotel shuttle, though the tip was increased to include my bags, yes to the breakfast but it was served to everyone in the hotel, not just the crew. Just a suggestion . . .if the gate agent is nice you might want to let them in on the secret maybe that will help with getting seats on the plane. At least for hubby, sometimes he flies and the other times he works the radio. Mentally knowing that he is flying is pretty cool but actually hearing his voice for the announcements was actually more fun. Really hope everything works out for you! | I have gone on trips with my Bf and usually its ok to ride in the van back to the hotel. As for breakfast, we went outside the hotel, but im sure it wouldn't be a problem. That is such a cute idea!! I hope he is very surprised!!

| I'm with Katbuad when I went I rode on in the hotel van and ate free breakfast. It is also a really good idea (if you do have a nice gate agent) to let them know, it helped me get on a flight once. Have fun and good luck!!!

| Have a great trip! We have flown on DH's flights several times now- infact we just made a trip from CLT to BUF. When traveling with the pilot we do what the pilot does. If the pilot is riding in a hotel shuttle, so do we. If the pilot is eating "free" breakfast, so do we. We have never had a problem. The only suggestion that I would offer is not to broadcast who daddy is. All four of my kiddos are obviously excited when they hear the Captain's voice on the pa, as it sounds like Dad's but they are mindful not to announce it for safety reasons. Of course the flight attendents know who we are, but we really try hard to keep this information quiet.Good luck and again, Have fun! |

| I think its a fabulous idea. I went on my DH's flight for the first time recently and it was brilliant. He knew I was coming so managed to sort me out a really good seat. It was fine to go on the shuttle to and from the hotel with him and the crew. We went out for breakfast so I don't really know the answer to that one. I hope you have a great time. I was so proud when I heard my DH's voice on the PA! It was great to finally see him in action. |

| I also went on one of my hubby's flights for the first time recently, and loved it. I was SO proud! As far of the crew bus went, my husband checked with the Captain first that it was ok for me to come- just courtesy really, and I didn't get free breakfast, as the hotel we were staying at was very hot on charging people who weren't crew!!

| Jackie- I have gone on so many trips with Bill and have always rode on the crew shuttle to the hotel and if he gets the free breakfast, so do I. ALthough we never really ate it,, we would go out. The breakfast is for hotel guests not just hte crew, so ofcourse you would be entitled to it as well, and the kids too! It's a great idea,,, and I really hope it works out... let us know k? Have a great time! |
