| Took a little non rev' trip this past weekend and added another state to the Have Visited List. On the way to through ATL on a Delta flight, the standby lisit were very long. But they were getting a lot of people on even though supposedly all the seats were claimed. I was 27th on the lisit with 10 unclaimed seats. Somehow (missed connects?) I and the 28th person were able to be placed on the flight. On the way from through CLT on an US Airways flight, all the flights were over sold by about 4 people. Managed to get on my first choice, but it didn't last. It was a first time (and HORRIBLE) experiance of being on the plane, luggage stowed, seatbelt on and being called to come forward with my luggage. Did the $20 upgrade to first class for my second choice since there were no coach seats but a couple of first class seats were unclaimed and went a couple of hours later than antisipated (the tale of non rev'ers everywhere). My general impression of flying this weekend (please bear in mind that I was traveling on the weekend), flights are full! Long standby list and oversold flights seemed pretty common. But (the ray of sunshine) they are still able to put several/lots of non rev'ers on each flight. |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Bummer katbuad!!! I so dread that feeling of being pulled off the plane. I'm sorry your trip from CLT was tough ... but you did get first class!! ![]() I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I non-rev'd w/ fiance this weekend, on Northwest, and it was smooth sailing. For both flights we were listed a fair bit down the standby list and there were more listed than seats available. But for some reason folks didn't show up and we made both flights. On the way out we even got seats right next to each other. One the way home, we got seats in the same row. Maybe b/c of NWA's potential merger folks are a little hesitant to book flights w/ them!? *shrug* ![]() Last edited by spotty4; 06-02-2008 at 11:36 AM. |

| Hubby and I bemoaned the fact that we didn't just purchase an ID 90 and fly Northwest!! The additional stressor of my tale is that while sitting on the second choice flight (in first class) we spent about 40 mins at the gate with no a/c or lights while the pilots and maintance worked on an electrical (??) problem. I was sweating like a pig worrying about being pulled off that flight the whole time. Great first class service of rum and coke helped to ease my worries a bit. ![]() Was very jealous to recieve a text that others were making it home when I hadn't even had the first try to get out of CLT!! ![]() |

| Katbuad-- Glad you made it all, but any delays/waits are maddening!! I have no clue what's going to happen with joint privs for NW and DL--I don't expect to send buddies to the Carib any time soon! It's still easier to NR overseas than some domestic routes--arghhhhhhh We now have some zed agreements but only 25 or so--some ID9-blanks can be pricey! I've yet to be removed from a seat but had a close call when sitting on a Comair flight--last one on, of course!! Captain wanted to speak with me--ACK!! Turned out to be an acquaintance--scary for a moment!! |

| My ILs non-rev all the time on SWA. We haven't tried the ZED arrangement (Delta, Airtran) yet but that sounds wonderful since we live at a non SWA city. I think it is $90 each way from CA to GA, with a five day advance notice. My ILs have gotten on every flight so far. Can you check the loads before you fly? I know my ILs check the loads and then "reserve" their waiting list spot. I hope you have better luck in the future with non-reving. Tonya |

| Getting pulled off must've sucked!!! I mean, once you're on, you figure that you're home-free... I guess you're not home-free till the door's closed... |

| I found on xjt that just because the door closes your not safe..I was on a flight (with dh flying!!) They closed the door then we had to wait for bags for around a 1/2 hour at which point they opened the door twice to let more people on, I was so worried they were going to yank me off!

![]() We were yanked off a flight once. Of course it was after a 8 hours international leg and we just wanted to get home. We were also in the back of the plane - everyone was staring at us like "wow, I wonder what these two are up to" ![]()
