| My Valentine's Day present this year was tickets to see Dirty Dancing live on stage in Toronto this past friday night. I rushed and left work at 10:30am. I rushed home let the dogs out (raining all moring). Rushed to the airport to catch 12:10 to Cinni, which had weight issues making it questionable whether I would even get on. Got to Cinni, my 3:10 to Toronto was CANCELLED. Bad weather in Toronto. There was another Toronto flight in a couple of hours, but with the cancelled flight I knew I would never get on. Tried to get to Buffalo (was going to rent a car and drive) but the flight was weight restricted. Got on a flight to Washington DC with plans to catch their 4:45 to Toronto, which wasn't cancelled when I got on the Washington DC flight but was cancelled by the time I got to Washington DC. Tried to get on Washington's Buffalo flight but no seats. I had no options that would get me to Toronto in decent time for the show. I got on a flight home. I cried the whole way. Got home, went to bed (fully clothed) and cried myself to sleep. It was miserable. It has been a long time since I have felt that out of control, frustrated with something that I wanted so very much to go and do. I should have taken the whole day off work and went earlier in the morning. I would have beat the weather. Hubby was very sad for/with me. He wants to try again in warmer months or wait and get tickets for when it comes to Chicago. He didn't want to go without me. The tickets were non refundable. He gave them away to the hotel manager, who said that his wife would love to go see Dirty Dancing. I hope they enjoyed the show. |

On the up side, you never gave in. You fought tooth and nail and explored every option available. In a way that may make it seem even more disappointing to you, but I think its awesome. I hope you're feeling better today ... ![]() |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | That stinks!!! when you go to try for the next one (if it's not where you are), just break down and buy a ticket. That way, if the boat is cancelled, you'll at least get on the next flight and/or be compensated somehow!

| I usually do break down and buy a ticket if I have to get somewhere...take this weekend for example our friend is getting married in Las Vegas so both dh and I bought tickets.. it is kind of annoying since we could try non-reving, but we both actually want to be there. I'm sorry you missed it, what a bummer!!

| Jetgirls Member | Yep, sometimes you just gotta invest in the ticket. I bought one for my spring break trip just a couple weeks ago. It kind of galled me because I'm taking BF's airline, but I really want to make it, so buying a ticket was the best way to go. I hope you have better luck next time!

| Ah crap! I live in Quebec City. My DH has been away for almost two weeks. A death in the family that he had to attend to in Toronto. Is flying in from London tonight - checked flights and they have cancelled everything from 3:00 on....Toronto closes down ALL THE TIME..........we've had over 400 centimeters of snow here....Toronto gets 1/2 " and the world comes to an end.....I feel your pain.
