| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | Me and the boyfriend both want to try to go on a cruise for vacation. We are going to try for late April through May. We've both never been on a cruise so we don't really know exactly what to expect, though we've heard they are great. We want to do an Eastern Carribean cruise for at the max, 7 nights. What I am wondering about is what everyone has heard and experienced from cruises. Like, what cruise lines to stay away from, what kind are the best, ect. Any advice is appreciated! |

| I've been on 4 Royal Caribbean cruises and didn't have any problems on any of them. They are fantastic! I remember when speaking to a travel agent about our first cruise, she advised us to stay away from Carnival. She said, (and remember SHE said, NOT me), "Have you ever been on the Jersey turnpike? Stopped at the Service Areas along the way? Remember the people you saw in there? THOSE are the people that are on Carnival cruises." I've never been on Carnival, so I can't verify anything she'd said, but it did make me chuckle. Hope you have a blast! I haven't gone on one in years and would really like to! | We have been on a Royal Caribbean cruise to Bermuda and a Princess cruise to the Caribbean. They were both great. The one thing I would look into is how much time you have in each port, and what time of day you get into each port. I do not like not having enough time during the day to explore, and in some ports I felt rushed to get back on the ship. Also, if you are able to splurge, having an outside cabin with a balcony makes a huge difference. Being able to have breakfast and cocktails on your balcony was a vacation in itself for me!

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | 10 years ago I did a quick (3 days 2 nights) cruise out of Miami to the Bahamas. It was w/ Royal Caribbean. I have no comparison w/ other cruise lines since that has been my only cruise, but it was fantastic. In fact, my ship was Sovereign of the Seas! From the other posts, seems like Royal Caribbean is the unanimous choice! |

| DH and I took a Carnival cruise (Eastern Carribean) for our honeymoon. It was nice, IMO. We were on the smallest ship they had and that was one negative. DH and I aren't much on gambling or hanging out in bars so there wasn't much for us to do on the ship (also not big on "shows"). But we did have a good time. I agree with whomever said to get an outside room with a balcony. That's what we did and it was FABULOUS!! Eating breakfast on the balcony in our fancy robes was a great way to wake up. Next time DH and I said we'd try Royal Carribean... I've heard good things about them. Have fun!!! |

| I went on Carnival a couple of years ago with my family and had a great time. Me and SO are wanting to do one next year with his friends or what not. We will see if it happens. I loved it though. It was great and all my family really liked when you could order food anytime you wanted ![]() |
