Brenda I am with you on Hawaii! Have done many summer trips that time of year ...its worth it for me.
but the best times I have found are October and February..there is also a great time where there is a lull after the first 2 weeks of the New Year. That's on Continental - can't say for the others.

I knew someone would have something great to reply! I recently took 6 TO's and was astonished at the bags the FA/s had--one always shopped for everyone and their uncle! I would have felt sorry for her, but she took on the duty and never once complained about her bags--even when we offered to take one. I understand the commuter/long duty part--the comment was a bit of tongue-in-cheek encouragement. I would never intentionally insult an FA--neither current nor former!
I keep trying to get my husband to stop taking an extra bag of shoes--men!! (and they think we have a thing aboutfootwear!!)
Cheers back atcha!
Hope to trade smiles someday if I can ever get on a Daytona flight to see my sister!

PS--I hate those dryers, too, but not enough to take my own.
that's SWEET!! my hubby has actually gotten better about it over the past year and i think that's simply because he'd get joked on by the other guys and sneared and/or teased by the other girls when he doesn't help out "his wife". you know how that goes..... It's something i've gotten used to and i only ask him for help when i really need it (like when my knee decides to pop going down steps) but other than that, i've learned loud and clear that if i buy it, i have to carry it. so i'm pretty strict about what i buy and what all i bring.

You should see them going to Accra!! i give a big holla out to those gals... they bring bags and bags of stuff from the US and just give the stuff away over there. i don't know how in the world i would carry much less find cargo space for all those bags... but the girls know that they can have as much cargo space as they want which is what makes it awesome!

Kristie, I always bring a hairdryer, too. If it means I have to cut back on the number of clothes I bring and wash my socks and underwear in the hotel sink, I'm bringing the hairdryer. Lol...some things just gotta come along.

mrs767, the extra bag of shoes cracked me up. Of all the things for you to have to convince your husband not to bring, that was NOT what I was expecting you to say!

I also have to confess that I wrote my response to your post in a moment of irritation. I was taken aback by your "Jetgirls, not crybabies" response, which I thought was a little over the top as an answer to someone who has never flown international non-rev and just wanted to know if hotel reservations are a good idea. A little over the top as an answer to anyone who had posted in this thread, actually, in the event it was meant as a generalized statement, as Kristie suggested.

I was in a peevish mood last night, anyway. It was no time for me to even be surfing a forum, let alone trying to post on one!

That's a really nice thing to do! My friend lived in Accra for awhile. I can't wait to see it for myself!

Well you can look me up if you are in town - we are in Port Orange!
Of course with the races right not, I myself would like to get OUT of town!
My Hubby is a fellow 757/767er....though he adores the 767 he gets stuck with the 757 most of the time due to his low senority as a Capt.
