| Happy Holidays to Everyone! My husband has a Lima Peru layover for Christmas. I am going with him of course and I wanted to see if anyone out there has traveled there or has any suggestions and/or tips. Of course we won't have time to do alot - we arrive Peru early Chiristmas morning and are there for 24 hours...so I guess I am looking for eating suggestions of anyone who has spent time in Lima..maybe shopping, sights whatever! My husband is not too thrilled and trying to trade the trip, he is not a big fan of flying down there, but I want to see if we can find a safe and fun way to spend our holidays aside from being in the hotel the entire time. We know nothing of the area aside from friends traveling there and on to Cuzco ( sp ? ) to do Michu Pichu (again sp? ). Thanks!!! |

| I went to Peru for 2 weeks in 2005 for Inca Trail trekking and Manu Juggle river exploring. I stayed 1 day each in Lima as layover in and out of Peru. It is very polluted there. But there is at least one place to see in the city: Catedral de Lima if you like museum. Also if you have half of day left, you can visit Miraflores. It is the district of gardens and the busiest beaches of the city. Quite touristic, yet nice and very pleasant to stroll. You can see people doing paraguiding. Nice shops if you are into shopping. Note I was there in Sept which is still dry season. I think Dec is raining season in Peru:-) |
