| Admin/Owner ![]() | I know Chicago has their downtown german christmas market which is really popular and New York has their big christmas Manhattan stuff they do (altho i don't know what all they offer during the season)....are there any other xmas activities that would be worth visiting and checking out? anything that makes the season special in any one location? besides the lighting of the xmas trees and going to the zoo for zoolights, there's not much here in phx except driving around looking at everyones xmas lights... just curious! ![]() |

| We (in Chicago ) used to have the windows and sears, montgomery wars and marshall fields, but I don't think they have them anymore once Macy's bought Fields... we are headed to Chicago next week so if I find anything I'll let you know!

| Admin/Owner ![]() | Make sure you head downtown!! I do know they try to make up a pretty darn authentic german christman market with gluhwein and all!!! I would think some of the bigger cities would have illuminated lights or animated store windows or something like that... i know phx doesn't because downtown is still essentially "dead". |

At most, like Kristie mentioned, I've seen zoo lights. I guess the USA culture is a bit more "to themselves" and individual w/ families. |

| Gatlinburg does the Smokey Mountain Lights, which we're going to this weekend. It's really beautiful. They also have on Friday and Saturday nights, carolers dressed in 1800's clothing that walk around and sing or travel up the main road in horse drawn carages singing. It's really cool. When I get back i'll post some pics.
