Default I love Las Vegas!!!

Oh my goodness, just got back from Las Vegas and boy we had a blast!!!

We stayed at Planet Hollywood. The room was nice and the hotel very centrally located on the strip. But the casino was a maze. Everytime we entered we couldn't find the door to get out. One night by myself, with just a little bit to drink, I actually got panicky when a dozen wrong paths didn't lead me to the elevators to go back upstairs. Another minus is all the construction going on around Planet Hollywood. The street narrows to one lane right before the turn to go to the parking garage.

We hit the buffets. Older casino, the Sahar, had a wonderful huge buffet for cheap when you sign up for their card. Also ate at Pompas, rather fancy, with a discount from Tickets 2 Night. We had Pompas for lunch and ate so much we were not even hungry for dinner.

We went to several casinos. We are not huge gamblers, mostly seeking out the penny slots. All said and done, I ended up $20 up and hubby broke even. We didn't gamble with a lot, just too chinzy for that. After a while the casinos all started to look a like.

The shows are what I loved the best. The casino's didn't get my money, but the shows sure did. We saw Fantasy (yes the uncovered show, thought it was going to be creepy but really it wasn't sleazy at all), Ron Lucas, Myster, and Viva Las Vegas. All were wonderful and very much recommended. I really wish that we had had more time and more money for more shows.

Another favorite was going downtown to the casinos on Freemont St. Freemont St. is like stepping back into time to Las Vegas in 1950's. It has an atmosphere that is really wonderful, especially at night. It was also quite the relief to have casinos and shops so close together after walking so much to get anywhere on the Strip.

We did Hoover Dam too. Driving out was enough for us without taking the tour. Very breathtaking, seems surreal.

Vegas is constant entertainment!! It was a very action packed trip. I really didn't want to leave, but with minimal sleep over four days my body was glad to head home.

When I got home I learned that my new job's start date has been moved back two weeks. Humm, maybe another short trip to somewhere else is in my future. . .
