Our holiday!

So, we are finally off on Sunday - and this will be the longest holiday we have ever got to spend together! You all gave such helpful suggestions, and here is the finished itinerary.
On Fri we fly into SFO, pick up our hire car (left it to PJ, so with a certain inevitability we're hiring a Mustang Convertible!). Driving up through Napa to Healdsburg, with some wine tasting on the way! Then spend 3 nights on the coast near Mendocino, then (and I'm so excited about this!) up to the Avenue of the Giants to spend a couple of days in the redwoods. I can't believe how beautiful it looks! Avenue of the Giants :: Home Page Then back down, another night in the wine region and back to SFO to fly back home.
I'll post some pics when we get back but it sounds so cool and so much fun! And I'm so looking forward to 8 whole nights with my husband!!
Anyway, I'm counting down the minutes until I leave, and just wanted to share!

This California girl is very envious! Are you able to spend some time in SFO before making your road trip? Fishermans Warf, Ghiradelli Square (yes the chocolate!), the piers?

It sounds like a wonderful holiday and I hope the weather is nice so that you can keep the top down on the convertible! Mendocino is beautiful as are the redwoods. Have a safe and wonderful trip!

If you get a chance and you are nearby, be sure to stop at Glass Beach- it's really beautiful.

Well we'll definitely be going to Fort Bragg (PJ has seen review of a fab seafood place there so there's no keeping him away!) so I will make sure we stop by Glass beach (sounds so pretty!)

Have a wonderful trip!! I live down in Monterey and haven't yet seen a lot of the things you and your hubby have planned. I definitely want to hear all about it when you return ... especially the redwoods! Down here and along the Big Sur coast there are small groves of redwoods, but nothing like the national park up north!

I LOVE San Fran! I always wanted to do a wine tasting in Napa- I have heard it is a lot of fun! Make sure you post pictures! Enjoy your holiday!
