Default How can you make HOME your vacation spot?

Doogie is a sicko (bad cold, insomnia)... we were supposed to leave for Stuttgart (oktoberfest) on Saturday and it hasn't happened yet...there's no way i'd want to drag around a walking corpse, like he has with me in the past, it takes the fun right out of it. we might go in another day or two just for a quick beer/chicken but that's all up in the air depending on how he feels.

So what are some things that can be done in the home that maybe you've done(?) to make home more of a vacation destination?

We don't have a pool (gonna build this fall) and we're not big television nuts.

thanks for the ideas!! i'm trying to keep us both off the computers

Our cable is out this morning. I am not a huge tv watcher either, but just knowing that it is not available to watch is driving me crazy.

I have been outside playing with the pups, but even they are just wanting me to leave them alone to nap in the sunshine. So I may take a page from their book and nap in the hammock.

Or I have the 1,000 Places To See Before You Die jigsaw puzzle that has about 12 scenes of beautiful places that I may start to travel to /build.

Sorry to hear that illness is ruining your plans. I agree with you that the only thing worse than being sick is being sick away from home where you are supposed to be having a good time. Maybe with lots of DayQuil the good times might not be canceled.
