Default Los Angeles-What to do?

I am going to visit my brother and sister-in-law this upcoming Thurs-Mon in Los Angeles. I have never been to California. I am sure they will have a few suggestions on what to do. But I know they will be wonderful hosts and ask me if there is anything that I want to do. So guys, what should I tell them? What is fun (and on the not too expensive side) to do in L.A.?

We just went last weekend and we took the kids to Venice Beach (my avatar) and we drove past the Santa Monica Pier (it was raining that day). Another time we were there, we went to the Universal City walk and down into Hollywood the the that chinese theater where all the foot and hand prints are at. We have never been there for more than a few days at a time, so we haven't done too much. I hear that Bubba Gump Shrimp at Santa Monica Pier is really good.

Hope you have fun!

That is all fun stuff. The griffith observatory is fun too. They just renovated it and it is supposed to be beautiful. I haven't been since the renovation. Also 3rd street in Santa Monica is fun at night. Have a good time!

I am a California girl born and raised (until recently) and would say if you have never been to CA than definitely hit up a beach. The Pacific Ocean beaches are greatly different than those on the east coast. The Pacific Ocean beaches smell salty, are MUCH colder, and actually have shells on their shores.

If you are near the Burbank area there are several talk shows and game shows that are filmed in the area. Price is Right is one. I for one never had the opportunity to make it down there for that, but some of my girlfriends have and had a blast.

Of course there are the amusement parks; Disney, La Brea Tar Pits, stuff like that.

I'm sure you will find plenty to do. Have Fun!
