Amanda,
I know its no scotland, but we are flying to SLC to go to the zoo down there while the weather is still nice. You can always come with us. I hear they have a white rino!....I really wanted Vegas this weekend but we can always go there (meaning weather).

Roz. Did your son love space camp...we are thinking about sending DS. of course they now have a parent/child camp....DH is ALL over that. I didn't really think the cost was that bad either.

He loved Space Camp. But I guess he's a little old to go with me again in a parent/child weekend! I still have the video of all their activities!

Amanda, have you left yet? I'll be in EWR for a little while tonight and will probably be there for a lot longer on Sunday!

Thread drift to answer this question....

I was a counselor at Space Camp (in Florida....it is now closed) for 3 years...1997-1999. I did regular camp and teacher camp during the summers and Parent/Child camp during the weekends (it was only 40 min from my college so it was a great weekend job).

I went to Space Camp when I was in the 6th grade (Florida) and 9th grade (Alabama) and I LOVED it. It was the best experience I ever had. Working there was the best job ever.....the job was great and the kids were awesome. When I worked Parent/Child camp on the weekends, it was so awesome to see the interaction between the parents and kids during the weekend. It was such a great experience for them.

Just my little plug for Space Camp!

/end thread drift!

Ahh... C'est la vie! While we were waiting for our flight on Friday night (didn't end up leaving until midnight for an 8:20 flight - yuck!) I heard the final boarding call for EDI announced. I told Brian he should just ditch his YYZ trip and let's go to EDI instead.

How did you like Scotland??

We had a BLAST! We came home a few hours ago but we're trying to unwind a bit. Since we only had a day to sightsee, we spent most of our time at Edinburgh Castle, which was fantastic, then we went to see the grave of Grayfriars Bobby. We walked a ton yesterday! We ended up eating dinner at a place Nick knew about from his last trip It was a small/cute little pub near the hotel. We got 2 fish and chips platters for 6.50 pounds total, which is a super bargain there! It was soooo delicious, as was the cold draught from the tap! We were wiped out pretty early though. Poor Nick only slept 15 minutes after staying up all night and bringing us in yesterday. I'll be posting a few pics soon of the trip.

FYI- I got business First both to and from EDI- LOVED that! We used 2 vacation passes so it only cost us the departure tax leaving today. I still have no idea how much it is.

I am SO jealous!! Where was the hotel?? Edinburgh Castle is so cool! Did you see that huge cannon? (I think it's called mons meg??) It has that sign by it that says not to sit on it, but there is nothing I wanted more than to get a picture sitting on it Walking around Edinburgh was really hard on my legs - I feel your pain! Everything is up hills and uneven pavement... especially the castle.

6.50 is a steal! I love how they have Strongbow on tap everywhere... I was never really a big cider fan, but I'm addicted to Strongbow now.

First class spoils you! The departure tax is pretty high, I want to say 90 pounds for first class?? Still is a lot cheaper than paying for a ticket, though.

Can't wait to see your pictures!

It would've been better if you'd wedged yourself in the cannon!!

Cool pics... I missed doing anything like that when I was in the Keys earlier this year... I was too busy getting into trouble at Margaritaville! (my friend's band was playing there)
