Moscow? Absolutely impossible without language speakers or someone's whose been there before.

The more often Kristie travels with me is the more she understands the pressures of what my job is and why:

1. I'm dismissive of when she asks, "I dunno, where do YOU want to eat?" when I get back home.
2. Why I throughly enjoy the "morning constitutional" in the mornings when I wake up and take a paper to the bathroom.
3. My strange obsession with bacon, eggs and orange juice during the mornings.
4. Why, no matter how nice the hotel is, if it's within 5000 miles of my home, why it's just "like a damned layover".
5. And, most importantly, when you bring you wife on a trip and she's looking hot, it keeps the frisky senior mammas at bay.

Travel, enjoy, explore. Life's freaking short and you only get one. Time's a wasting.
So by that theory, if I go on some trips with Eric, I should then maybe leave him home alone with our kids for say.... a week straight so HE can see the demands of my "job":

1. Why after making every single decision for my toddler all week, i'd love for HIM to decide where we eat.

2. How I would love to take a shower that is longer than 5 min. and have time to actually do my hair and makeup instead of having a screaming toddler outside my door yelling for something. Heck, i'd take a morning "constitutional" in the bathroom w/o my toddler in there! LOL!

3. Why getting out of the house and going to a hotel for a night, to me, would be a dream vacation... but that arranging childcare can be tricky.

4. How waking up to the sound of our daughter singing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" is THE BEST alarm clock in the entire world!!!

5. How hearing her little voice say "I Yuv You Mommy!" makes all of the dirty diapers, and whining, and no privacy, etc. ALLLLL worth with.

We ALL have 'BS' in our lives... it's not an easy life for anyone no matter what the profession.

I think it's a good idea for wives to travel with their husbands occassionally, but it's also important for husbands to take the time to understand what things go on at home too!

Why the heck not?! I totally agree!! It would certainly bring perspective to him as there are a lot of people out there who KNOW their husbands have NO idea how hard being a mommy, maid, landscaper, wife, caretaker etc is.

I tried to make Ian sit behind me while I typed away at the computer, but he kept falling asleep.
