| We had a fabulous time! It all worked like clockwork and the weather was wonderful (I hear it was terrible at home, though). I picked DH up at the airport and we got on the ferry. It was a beautiful ride. He had a jumpseater from NWA who was going to ACY to pick up a motorcycle he had just purchased and ride it home to VA. He was a 747 FO who had been downgraded from a DC 9 CA and was very bitter. So we chatted and then parted ways when we landed. We had a wonderful lunch in Lewes, DE--the first town of the first state! Then we stopped at my favorite wine store and made some purchases and off we went to MD. We stayed on Tighlman Island at a B&B on the tip of the island. It was great. The B&B is on a wildlife preserve and they have bald eagles nesting in the trees. I never saw a bald eagle outside of the zoo before! We had a great time resting and dined at fantastic places. I was on a mission to see how many ways I could experience crab! All in all, I love the Eastern Shore! It is such a beautiful area. And, best of all, there were no planes or TSA to spoil the experience! |

| We picked up a couple of cases--no tax in Delaware. DH's favorite red was the Evil Cabernet (Australian) and Oxford Landing Cabernet/Shiraz. They were $9/bottle! I prefer white wine so we mixed it up. If anyone is ever in Lewes, the store is Teller Wines. They specialize in really good wines and try to keep it at $10/bottle (of course they have the higher end stuff too). |
