Default My Glasgow, Scotland trip

I have to make this fast... I'm sitting here at the gate waiting to see if I'll be on Nick's Glasgow flight! It was a long shot as of this morning... it was 14 oversold. In fact they went over the "authorized" number of seats that can be sold so we were pretty annoyed

I had a half day of and Monday off too so I drove up to EWR. This is one CRAZY airport holy cow!

Anyway, the cpt told Nick that a flight from Cleveland was delayed or canceled or something... and he thinks I'm getting! I'm trying not to get excited... more to come!

Well crap... 2 away from getting on the flight. All well it's was fun while it lasted. There was a family that got bumped yesterday from the GLA flt and she felt bad for me so she gave me her free meal coupon. I'm just sitting here eating my free Oriental salad

So time for plan B. You know, I feel like going somewhere right now! I wish I could contact one of the London gals since there is a flight later to Gatwick. My bags are packed and I just want to go somewhere. I feel like Kristie just looking at the departure board saying.. "where should I go right now".

Alright I guess I should go with the real plan B... I'm going to sleep at my sis's house in Nj and then I'm going to try to get to PHX. It's a good thing I have a second bag pack for hot weather in my car!

Kristie and PHX peeps-
I'll let you know if I make it there!

Sorry you missed the flight Amanda. I checked the CAL site after your first post and saw it did not look great. There will be plenty of other flights of his you will get on, maybe just not in the summer time! Hope you get to PHX!

Well I guess I got my 2nd choice which is good!

I wish I was with Nick though because there is a big festival in Glasgow and he just texted me that a Jazz concert he went to was a lot of fun.

She's already been here and gone, i think...I think she had a redeye flight out tonight...but she did mention something about trying to come out every few months and about not selling her condo as originally thought... she'd like to keep some permanent roots in the area (even if it's only for vaca for a few years).

It's stinks that you missed out on going to Scotland, Amanda but it was nice to see you! you know your always (as is anyone) welcome to come out for the JC meet and greets we're having every month!

Sorry Tara- it was a very quick trip! I barely made it on the flight back to EWR last night- I got one of the last 2 seats that went to non-revs. Kristie was right- I'm going to try to make it out to PHX every 2 months or so. I am just so happy when I am in AZ (even with the heat)!

Kristie- thanks for coming out Saturday. I'll get you the cute pics of you and Doug as soon as my computer is running. I am using my dad's computer since mine died last night.

Glad you at least made it somewhere. I hate EWR airport! If there is a little bit of rain anywhere not even that close to the area, there are delays since it effects the arrival and departure patterns. Even if the weather is clear, you can still get delayed for "volume". Flying in and out of there, especially in the afternoon/evening is a nightmare. I thought for sure the GLA flight would have had some misconnects so you would get a seat. Glad you made it back from PHX!
