It takes some getting use to but once you have a taste of not being connected to the outside world and just focusing on you, it is an awesome feeling.
that's what i love about cruises!!

Our weekend in Santa Fe was AWESOME
It is so beautiful there, cool, green, clear blue skies.....
We landed in Albuquerque and rented a car. We used the little TomTom Walt just bought and it directed us straight to the Inn. Brainless! It was about an hour trip, easy drive, even if we didn't have "Tom".

We stayed at Bishop's Lodge, a very nice place and I would recommend it highly... a little pricey but nice. The food was excellent, room service was prompt and met all our "special requests", such as wine glasses, bottle opener, substitutions, etc. We had a room by the river that runs though the property. We were able to sit out on our deck, sip wine, listen to the rushing water and smell the lilac's in bloom. AAAHHH, it was very quite and peaceful.

They have a lovely deck at the main lodge on which you can eat or relax. We had Monday brunch out in the sun overlooking the grounds and enjoying the clear, clean skies. The food was delicious..... Bad news, they don’t' server alcohol before noon (state law) ..... Where’s my mimosa??? ha-ha

We took Saturday and just toured and enjoyed the city. We took the little tram around the city for $14 P/P. Well worth it, 1.5 hr ride, very informative and gave us an idea of where we wanted to go back to as far as the art districts, etc. We walked in the downtown area/square, ate in the park, they have lots of little food carts, benches to sit on, etc. Very nice. Dessert was at Hagen das (sp)....
We spent a lot of time in the galleries on Canyon Road. My favorite were all the bronze statues...

The Anasozi Inn is right downtown on the square. We walked in to just look around, BEAUTIFUL! Very nice place to stay if you want to be in the heart of it all.

We wanted a very relaxing time so Sunday was our spa day. I had made all of the reservations and planning of the trip as my friend Beth was busy or busier than myself.... I didn't get our spa reservations made very timely (Wednesday before we left on Sat.) and the Spa at Bishop's Inn was pretty booked up. We wanted full body massage, nails, pedicures, and facials. They could do body scrubs and massage but that was it... we wanted the full tamale...

We looked in the little magazine that they leave in your hotel room and picked randomly La Posada Spa and Resort and called on Friday, when we got in, to see if they could do all our services like we wanted. They could accommodate us and we even had time for brunch between our services out at the pool. La Posada Spa is 5 star.... on of the "Leading hotels of the world". We just stumbled onto it and all I can say is OMG! The services were really nice. (Not as nice as Camelback Inn in Phx) but really nice and there are no complaints. I had my very first facial and I am HOOKED
I was like buuuuttter when it was all said and done. The only bad thing was I had to drive us back to our hotel where we ordered room service and drank our bottle of wine.....

I hope you all have a chance to have some well deserved "ME" time. You don't have to go away or spend a lot of money to pamper yourselves. Often times it is pretty cheap to get a manicure or pedicure at your hair dressers.... it really makes you feel pampered and very feminine. I call it girlly girl... It does a lot to boost your feminine side and just makes you feel special. My mantra: If you don't take good care of yourself, what do you have left to give to others?

Wishing you rest, peace and relaxation,
Dana
