| Time for some fun... and there is a prize for winning. Where will DH and I end up for vacation this year? We take a yearly trip the first week in April and we never seem to decide where we will go. Case in point, we are only 3 weeks away from our trip and we have no plans. If any person on this board can guess the country or state we will visit this year, I will send you a present from that place. Only one guess per person, and no duplicating each other. If I visit more than one place I will send presents for each correct guess. Some clues: ~ We are very laid back about planning and are liable to show up anywhere in world with backpacks and no hotel reservations. ~ We went to Australia and New Zealand last year and not going back this year. ~ We may stay locally in Colorado or visit other US states Goodluck!

| Jetgirls Member | I bet you travel to Hawaii. That is my dream trip. DH has promised to take me there someday. Yeah, not holding my breath, he also promised me a big diamond someday too! LOL What a great opportunity to hike - see active volcano, waterfalls, etc. I am getting jealous just thinking about it. Have fun. |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | hmmmm....traveling at a whim...backpacking/hiking favorites and colorado and only 3 weeks off with no plans as of yet. I bet at the last minute, you'll grab the boots & backpacks and head to zurich...zurich is getting warmer already, you can take the train to more than one hiking destination (depending on what elevation you want to be at)... it'll be kinda chilly up in the alps themselves but that makes for good hiking, photography (clear skies/no pollution) and sleeping weather! best part....it's just about spring.. and hardly any tourists. altho, if it's still snowing and/or packed snow, then it wouldn't make good hiking weather but would make good skiiing weather... if not that, then i'd think along the costa rica or puerto rico lines if your looking for good backpacking in warmer weather. but that's just my guess.

| I might make plans based on these posts. Some of these sound fun. More clues: ~ We are thinking cruises ~ We are thinking skiiing ~ We are thinking sunny and warm Yes, those conflict ~ I have never been to Europe ~ DH absolutely refuses to go to Paris (he's been there and they were rude), though France isn't ruled out. ~ We are not going to Africa or Asia Hopefully that helps limit the countries. Make sure you list a specific country. If we go by continent, only a few people will be able to play. Good Luck! We still haven't made any plans ![]()

| How does this work...are you planning on just showing up at the airport and picking a gate and wherever it takes you it takes you (I've always wanted to do that ) or are you actually going to have somewhere planned at some point? |

there are some good travel industry rates in the carribean and/or bahamas that are still open but that doesn't seem like it would be your cup of tea... offers diving/snorkeling but not really backpacking and it would be pretty expensive to do the excursions. So i'm throwing out the cruise option. ![]() if france isn't ruled out, then i'm still voting on europe as it's a new destination and there are a lot of places there to be outdoorsy. Quote:
