| DH and I just spent the night up north in a very small town called Shelter Cove. Shelter Cove is about halfway between the bay area and Oregon. To drive it is about 5 1/2 hours from here and up a VERY winding highway on a cliff. It's very scary. But this tiny town has a runway. So we flew in. Total time (with a pitstop in Santa Rosa) was 2.8 hours. It was 2.0 hours exactly coming home (YAY for a tailwind!). It was a lot of fun. We got to town about 3:30 and spnt the night in a fabulous ocean-view suite with a spa and sauna and fireplace and kitchenette. We watched the sunset and the tide roll in. It was so beautiful. We didn't do a whole lot but look out at the ocean and enjoy the peaceful little town. The last two years for our anniversary we went to touristy places. It was nice this year to go someplace that wasn't touristy and therefore not crawling with people. I'm ready to move there. I have a bunch of pictures that I'll hopefully get posted in the next couple days. Pastor A. commented to me before we went out of town, "Have a good trip. Eric's setting the bar .... flying his wife to exotic places for his anniversary .... how can mere mortals keep up?" This is probably a prideful attitude, but it's nice to be admired for having a husband as a pilot. Way cool! And Eric let me fly home some. He did the hard work, but I had the controls most of the two hour flight home. It's cool to be part of the elite club of pilots and family!

| No, there aren't any vineyards in that area. It's very mountainy. It's really not easy to get to via car.

| Cool photos. It looks like you two had a really great weekend--how romantic! I haven't been flying with my DH yet, but would really like to... His favorite pasttime is looking at planes on ebay, though, so who knows... |
