Hey Skibum, where's the best place to ski in park city? DH and I are heading that way March 25th weekend. Don't you work out there? ![]()

Okay I'm going to cry. I just wrote a million things about Park City and the post evaporated. I'm PMing my phone number, and will try to recreate the post later. *cry*

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Jo, it depends on what you are looking for and what kind of skiers you guys are. Deer Valley (where I work) is awesome for groomed runs and has a lot of good intermediate terrain. It's also sweet if you're looking to get pampered and not do a lot (5 star food, ski valet, etc) The other really nice thing about DV is that they limit the number of lift tickets that are sold so you really won;t ever have lift lines. Park City is great if you're looking for some good bowl skiing, hiking or tree skiing. I honestly haven't skied there a whole lot beyond the bowls/trees. I haven't yet skied the Canyons yet, but I've heard that the stuff off the 9990 lift is pretty sweet and they have some good hiking areas. It's also a good place to go if you're a begining boarder. In any case, I'm going to PM you my phone number. give me a call when you get out here and we can go out for dinner/drinks! Emily |

Park City Mountain Resort (PCMR) is my favorite for the reasons skibum listed above. Bowls, trees and mogels. I'm not a fan of DV though, all the money (of the rich skiers and billion dollar houses) puts me off. And did I mention I love powder and bowls? PCMR has a variety of skiing terrains. If you want groomed blue runs check out Pioneer, King Kong, and Payday lifts. Most the lifts are high speed and I have not seen long lines on the weekends. If it is trully a busy weekend though, I don't think they have admission limits. Canyons is pretty much a PCMR duplicate. So either resort is good. You must check out Main Street. Make sure to grab some food at Wasatch Brewery (burgers and other varieties of food) or Ciseros (Italian). They are both near the top of mainstreet so catch the trolley bus up to the top. The city buses are all free, so you can hop to anywhere pretty quick. If you are a coffee lover (or addict like me), BadAss is the local place and is located on Park Ave near the bottom of Main St next to the Kimball Art Center. And if you have a half day to blow, go rent some X-country skiis and ski around Osguthorpe Farm (I think this was renamed McPolin Farm) and the golf course. I'm an adventure traveller so my recommendations reflect that. There are certainly many ways to experience Park City. What else, what else... oh ya. have a great time!

wow guys! Thanks for the awesome tips. I have actually been to PCMR (2002) and really enjoyed it. DH has not been there so I was leaning towards going back there. Do either of you know of any unguided snowmobiling places we could go? I hear they are pretty limited in Park City. We will only be there two days, so we don't have much time for anything else. I have both your numbers and thanks again! ![]()

Try the Heber City side for snowmobiling. There was an awesome unguided place that let us get right behind Jupiter peak and DV. This was 10 years ago but I believe this is the place http://www.recreationventures.com/ Looks like they still have unguided rentals. This place has lots of climbing routes so this is not for flat out speed, though very thrilling and pretty above Heber Valley. I also stumbled across this place that looks like it on flat lands near the Jordenelle http://www.danielssummit.com/snowmobilerates.html Look under activities>snowmobiling for more information.
