| My father-in-law is on his way to Rome for his last flight with US Airways before he retires on Tuesday. My DH and I were hoping to be at the airport when he returns. Any ideas on a gift we could give him? As "little" retirement gift, he went to Germany and bought a Mercedes two seater and recently had it shipped to the states. I was thinking a new keychain that I could have something engraved on would be thoughtful, but am open to other suggestions if any of you creative minds have any!

| Admin/Owner ![]() | fuzzy dice? ![]() or a GC at the nearest car wash!! so he went to germany and is having the car shipped back... how does that work? do you get to skip all the US tarrifs and taxes? I hear you have to at least drive the car while over there, put some mileage on it before they'll let you ship...Doug and I have thought about doing something like that ourselves, we just don't understand yet how it all works out.

I actually was talking to DH about driving on the other side in another country and we were talking about why some do it one way and others the other way! | |

| I love the fuzzy dice idea--gonna do it! I will get the keychain too! Mercedes does a first class trip for you to come over and drive your new car. They stayed in several beautiful, amazing places while they drove the car on the Autobon. Don't know all the details about the shipping and stuff, I just know that if was really cool! And Michelle, I asked the SAME THING about the steering wheel! My DH looked at me like I had just asked a Jessica Simpson kind of question! I personally thought it was a logical question! But, the car is all custom designed, so it was built for the US. Oh yea, his wife fell and broke her arm at Applebee's, so he didn't actually get to fly his last turn to Rome! I think he is feeling a little wierd not officially being a pilot anymore. He has called my DH 50 times today and won't stop talking to him (very unusual)! He is only 60, healthy and still wants to work. I guess that would feel wierd huh? Can you imagine our guys being home all the time and not being able to fly?
