| Admin/Owner ![]() | when is it? March? it's totally realistic to get to paris and/or venice.. pretty much anywhere via europe in March! I'd say 3-4 days in paris is all you need to learn about paris, it's culture, history and learn some of the language! Doug and I did it in 4 days and most other areas, we've only used 3 days to get to know the cities because we figure we can go back anytime and spend more time! but at least we'd know our way around. out of everywhere i've been, I'd say paris is really the most romantic because of the langauge, architecture and the way of life there. if you want relaxing, you won't find it in europe since there's just so much to see & do...for relaxing, find a beach in hawaii or the coast of california or even down in the bahama area (St. Maarten) |

Our honeymoon was at a lodge in the boundary waters in Minnesota. It's 3 hours drive from Duluth, and almost an hour from the nearest town. For a honeymoon, it ROCKS. You can cross-country ski, hike, go for a dogsled ride, or just sit in the hot tub in the cabin and do nothing. We had our own cabin overlooking a lake, on the other side of which was Canada. We've gone back every year for our anniversary, but sadly this year we had to cancel our trip. Our anniversary is March 12th, and the baby is due right around that time. In a secluded cabin in the Northwoods is no place for a 9 months pregnant lady from Chicago. www.gunflint.com The most important thing about a honeymoon is to make it about YOU guys. Do something, go somewhere that is YOU, and no matter how long you spend, or where you go, just enjoy being together. That's what a honeymoon is all about.

awesome, thanks for the advice.... I am thinking either Paris or Venice, would you suggest both? How realistic is that? Don't want to over do it.

With only 4 or 5 days I'd stick to one city. Counting travel time n' such, I (personally) would feel too rushed to try to fit both in. There's always anniversary trips!

Save Europe for another time. It is so DRAINING. You lose 2 or more days with travel also. (remember you lose a day coming back) I would think of a special place that is within 2-4 hours away and in a simular time zone. Just going to Europe to visit family is draining. We did a quick 4-5 day trip before we really couldn't enjoy it with the time change and the travel. What other locations have you thought of? What are your interests? Cher

I've been to Napa Valley many times. There are lots of nice, romantic places there. If I were going to Europe, I'd choose Florence over Venice. But,
