Default Christmas

What is a good Christmas gift for a beginning student commercial pilot? I was thinking of a GPS, but I think they are going to be too expensive for me.

thx,
Jan

well, some GPS units don't work in the air (I thought of buying one for doug too this year).. i'd get him a gift certificate from an FBO so he can use it for a new headset or for flight lessons... but i really have no idea if the FBO even gives gift certificates!! hahaha

take a look at sportys.com - they have some interesting yet useful gifts on there like jeppesen manuals (I think)... cockpit posters.. manuals.. and what not...

they have a student pilot store on there too...

Not that it's great for the WHOLE gift, but as a partial gift if he doesn't have it yet, Sporty's ornament this year is a glass etching of the Wright Flyer. It's pretty cool and I bet any pilot would want it.

My dad's GPS works in the air (he used it the whole flight from CO to AK and said he wanted to make sure the pilot didn't get lost :roll- maybe you can give him some of the money for it, but not all.
