Default Birthday ?

So, I was wondering....if you don't want to celebrate your birthday, why do you have to celebrate it?

Yes, I am such a bah-humbug this year, and I am still feeling awful with pregnancy stuff...so, my parents still want to come over for cake (or in my case pie because I have never liked cake) to celebrate. I haven't actually wanted to celebrate for over 5 years now, but I keep saying that this is the last year. Then, the next year is the last year, etc. It's not like I never see my parents; they live down the street. I have bad birthday memories, and I just don't want to celebrate it. IF it were my kids the ones to want the party, I would do so, but come-on, why should I have to celebrate it for other adults? Why is a birthday so important to people other than the birthday person? I don't mind that other people celebrate theirs', and I have nice birthday parties for my kids....I just don't want one for myself. HELP!
