I love dressing up... but alas, I have no where to go... and I work at a fire department, so they frown on us wearing anything but our mandatory uniform... Plus, my hubby is away piloting, so.... Well, hopefully, I'll find SOMETHING to do!

I love dressing up for Halloween! Unfortunately with my new position at work and the fact that it is a conservative financial company, I won't be "going all out" on the job!

My favorite costume was in 1999 when I made myself look like a toilet. It was pretty realistic and I won an award! Nick and I dressed like lost luggage a few years ago for a party- it's posted in my JG photo album. This year Nick will be working 10/27 (Sat.) so I'm heading to a big party solo. He'll be home on Halloween so he said he'll get in the spirit (heh heh) and will dress up... but I need to make the costume (big surprise). I might use a good costume I made a couple of years ago- a Lipton teabag. He said I could make him a lemon wedge, but I have no idea where to begin!

I'll try to find pics I can post.

Amanda,
With creative ideas like that, my kids would love to have you as their costume maker; I am sure yo must win costume contests every year!

I get that all the time- my friends can't wait until I have kids so I can dress them up in unusual costumes! I have a feeling when I actually have the kids they aren't going to like me much...
I'll dress them up like a shoe and a sock or something "strange"! I tend to like to dress like objects and not people- not sure why!

Easy and quick idea I did once: Buy one of thos floppy mesh laundry baskets and cut a hole in the bottom (or use an old one). Put the handles over your shoulders like overalls, and shove in a bunch of clean clothes and some soap and stuff. Be laundry... Yeah, I'm a dork, but it's fast and cheap!
