Default Does anyone have family serving in the war?

Since it is memorial day weekend coming up I thought it would be nice to share the stories of those over seas. I don't want to start a thread about what we *think* of the war. Just to remember and give honnor to those who are serving.

My youngest brother who I raised since he was 3 is 21 yrs old and is serving in Iraq. he drives the humvie(although he has a different name for it) that drives ahead of the marines who are on patrol. He scans for the IEDs. He is right in the middle of all of the bad stuff. He has lost two good friends. One was his college roomate, a very neat guy, he was also 21. Brian just came home on leave, and already he was differnt. I cried when I sent him back, partly b/c I worry, but also b/c he was no longer a kid. His innoncense is lost. He embraces is duty like a man and nevers complains. He has pictures from all of his neices and newphew all over the walls by his bunk. I am so proud of him, and miss him fiercy. I have to wipe away my tears as I type this.
My oldest brother aslo did a tour in Iraq. He is a builder and was far out in the country side. His time in the *sand box* was much differnt. However he had to leave his wife and six kids. the youngest was only a month old when he left.
