Default 2 year wedding anniversary

Ok,, so our wedding anniversary is next week, March 5th and I am trying to figure out what to do or get for DH. We went on a ski trip last year but I don't know if we will do a trip this year or not. If we dont do a trip, do I get him a gift? If so,,, what kind of gifts do you get a man for an anniversary? BIll has vacation at the end of the month so if we do a trip it will be at the end of march and I should probably get him something on the 5th anyway.... HELP!

First- congratulations on your upcoming 2 year anniversary!

Second- DH and I don't do gifts for our anniversary, actually we didn't even do gifts for xmas this year! We got married in August, so DH usually takes one of his 3 weeks of vacation in August. We don't go anywhere since we have a summer house and spend all summer up there. We do get each other cards every year and we also go out to dinner every year for our anniversary (Olive Garden, I LOVE the breadsticks!). That is probably the one time during the year we go out to eat!

Sorry I can't be much help! Our 5 year anniversary is this year, I can't believe it has been 5 years since our wedding. Sometimes it seems like yesterday but most of the time I can't remember my life without him (we have been together for over 10 years).

Congrats!

Second year is the cotton anniversary. I bought DH some unique cotton shirts in November, it was our 2nd anniversary. By the way cotton is the traditional gift, china is the modern gift.

Is it just me or do the traditional gifts seem cooler than the modern gifts? Year three is traditionally the leather year and I need a new leather jacket.

The following link has a list of the traditional anniversary gifts and some possible ideas to go with.

http://www.ivillage.co.uk/print/0,,533691,00.html

I honestly cannot remember if we exchanged gifts on our 2nd anniversary or not. We just celebrated our 11 th anniversary on New Years Eve and DH surprised me with a silver ipod (steel) it was very much a surprise.

IMO a nice set of cotton sheets would be nice. They have those great "Jersey Shirt" sheets that feel like a t-shirt and are available in so many different colors. Maybe buying a color you normally wouldn't consider so that when you see it on the bed it will remind you of your anniversary.?? Just a thought?? Anyway...good luck.
