Default Good Things for Pilots?

As my DH is just starting this, is there anything that your pilots absolutely love? Is there special luggage or work out clothes, really anything that makes their lives a bit easier? I wanted to get him a congrats gift on his new job and I keep getting questions from the ILs. Thanks so much!

How about leather Jep Binders from Scott Leather that are personalized? I bought some, I think they were around $50 each and he has gotten a lot of compliments on them. He also liked the Scott Leather Flight bag. He is getting a new PNT bag too. Unfortunately, they are all pretty expensive!

But from your profile, I am assuming he is going to JetBlue? If so, he may not have a need for the Jep Binders since they have the electronic flight bag.

Yes, the electronic age is on us! But the PNT bag is a keeper!

One really expensive gift is the Bose Headset (DH doesn't have a pair yet, but really wants one). They are 1K, but there is a cheaper version for like $500. Its the Bose QC2 with a mic attachment you can buy off the internet (would have to get the web address from DH). My DH is leaning towards the $500 version b/c he can plug the MP3 player into it while flying.

Oh no, a whole new set of acronyms I need to learn I'm not sure what some of the things you mentioned were.

Yes, he is going to fly for JetBlue. I don't know what the electronic stuff is....this will be the youngest planes DH has ever flown. I don't know if he'll know what to do in a plane that doesn't have duct tape everywhere!

I'll definitely check out the websites. Hubby loves his ipod, so he is set there!

My husband loves anything small so that it is lightweight enough to put in his bag. I bought him a small digital camera (Canon Elph) so he can e-mail me pictures while he is out of town. He loves it and carries it with him all of the time whether in town or out. He also loves the ipod nano, but I see your husband already has one. And a really nice gift that I boought him for his birthday one year is the Citizen Titanium World Time watch. It is very cool and helps him keep up with times in two cities at the same time.

my hubby has that too.. for some reason, most pilots love their citizen watches and even love them more when they're titanium... do they all have the same brains or what?

Mine loves his Revue Thommen titanium airspeed. Me, I like my Breitling--no titanium for me, however.
