Default New Year's Eve plans?

What is everyone doing for New Year's? I find that as I get older, I'm not as gung-ho to go out and party! I was asked to work my part time job catering but I'm not sure I'm going to do it. Nick said I should work and make some money when I asked him what I should do (he's working of course). If I work I have to watch a lot of people get drunk! Not fun.

I'm partying it up w/ my boys I think. DH is, of course, working so I'll prolly hit the sack early and then go to my folks the next day (1.5 hr drive) for some TLC.

Ya know, I've never really been big into the New Year celebration thing. I don't know why really. I love to socialize and tie one on every now and then but I'm not totally crushed if I don't have plans for NY Eve either. I guess I'm always still bummed about Christmas being over! LOL...

Hope everyone had a super holiday and a safe and happy new year!

My DH is actually off! Can't believe it, so you would think we would have big plans, but no! Usually if he is home we invite friends over and play games. We got a great game last year called Loaded Questions that we all had a blast with! If you have close friends and you do the game thing, this is a great one!

Brian has to work, but has a long overnight in IND (gets in at 5pm Sun & leaves at 7pm Mon)... so I'm heading out to meet him for NYE. This is the first time doing the non-rev thing, so hopefully it won't bite me in the ass... so far the flights are fairly open *knock on wood*... there are about 20 seats available both going out and coming back. What I'm really looking forward to is spending the day in NYC on the 2nd... we're going to see a show & take in the sights. We tried to do the same thing when he was sitting reserve one weekend that I came up to visit him, but I ended up spending the afternoon in the hospital with the most godawful migraine I've ever had. Silly me forgot to bring my Imitrex with me!! Haven't made that mistake since!

same here... considering we just got back from non-revving out there in crazy land, we're not really sure we want to travel elsewhere to spend NYE....

but, we just found out there are a couple of JC people we know that are going to vegas, so maybe we'll just drive up there and whoop it up with them for the night... heck, we don't need no stinkin' sleep!

Actually, if we do that, Amanda, you could always travel with us!

Steve is on reserve right now. Fortunately he end his reserve stint on the 30th. Amazingly, though, he was home for Christmas and Christmas Eve. He got called the first day of his reserve and got a trip that returned at midnight on the 24th and then (although he was still on call) did not get called again until a little after midnight on the 26th. I feel pretty lucky about that. As for New Years plans--none here. We're still working on the house trying to get it in the next Homes ad! The hardwood floor people are coming to refinish them on the 2nd, so I guess we'll be moving furniture!

Hardwood floors? Not sure if you are building or remodeling but FYI-if you have a fridge or freezer near the area that you will be putting the floors in move it outside or clean it out and put the stuff in a friend's freezer for a while. All the stain and laquer that is put on the floor during the process gets into the freezer and makes the food taste like it! YUK!

I've never really been a big fan of New Year's Eve, or as we call it amateur night! Bill is working but if he can drop the turn he has for the first he will come home. Not counting on scheduling approving that. His foot is killing him, so he may be end up calling in sick and turning around and coming home anyway. But no plans either way.
