I received a book for coupons at my bachelorette party, but the coupons weren't for me. They were for the groom, and not really for anything I can really discuss on here. It was for something that really isn't my idea of a good time. And they gave me ten of them!!! Ridiculous!!!

was the groom coupon book from one of his friends? Yes, I agree that the coupon thing is a waste if it isn't designed specifically for an individual. I have thought about giving my parents sometime, not this year, a group of 12 coupons, good for 1 gourmet dinner per month. This way, I remember to invite them over on a specified day, and they enjoy a nice dinner, not worrying about making it, dishes, etc. Plus, my mom can't cook very well and she likes certain dishes that I make like chix chimichangas, tilipia, chix pasta, etc. A certificate for the diiner, along with the recipe would work well for them.

Oh, for those of you that are religious, my kids sometimes make a prayer boquet. We make a flower out of construction paper, and then they promise certain prayers said for the gift receiver. My m-I-law likes this a lot, and so does my hubby.

For my kids' teacher, She has a box full of treats to give to the kids for good behavior. Well, I am not really into all the candy the kids get, so I think we are going to make a box with the kids handprints from the class (12 kids) and fill it up with non-candy things that she can give out....pencils, erasers, etc. As a nun, she can't really have the regular teacher gifts, so I thought this might work. Any ideas of what else I can put in it besides candy?

This probably won't work but last year my DS teacher had 3 days of gifts!!!
The first one we gave her was stationary and post-it notes (not the yellow kind, but the nicer "decorator" set.
Day two was something the kids made in art class for her.
Day three was a picnic blanket (the termal kind that's waterproof on one side.)
She absolutly loved it.
We saw her last month at movie night at the school. (Twice a year, the school hires a company to come out and hook up a movie screen and projector outside and everyone sits on the school lawn and watches a movie together. Guess what, there she was with her picnic blanket!!!)

Otherwise, I give out Target giftcards.

Okay, we have five kids and a terrible case of the "MINE!!"

So, I got all the kids personalized bean bags from Pottery Barn. Each is a different color and has their name on it. I got cheap bean bags on sale buy one get one FREE and then I ordered the covers from PB.

EVERYTHING I got for Christmas is personalized. The triplets got Pottery Barn sheets and pillowcases that are personalized. Emily got a LL Bean personalized backpack. Nicoloas got an LL Bean bag that is personalized. They each get a personalized mug. I am waiting for some LL Bean tote bags to go on clearance, and then the girls are getting personalize bags too. Best part, all things were on sale or clearance. I paid a lot of money to have things personalized, but I have faith that it will be worth every penny in the long run! LOL Actually, Emily's backpack was on clearance for $12.00, and to have her name and a sports figure put on it was $12.00.

So, that is my master plan for Christmas - PERSONALIZE!

Okay, I finally got the website. A friend of ours is the craftsman behind Home Page J L S Albums. He is a US Airways Pilot and incredible artist. On his site you will find items he can personalize with your photos by laser -crystal christmas ornaments, photo albums, tile trivets etc. He also makes luggage tags with your airline's logo. I don't see them on the site but ask him about them. I bought some for DH went he first got on last year. They have the SkyWest logo with his name, cell number and employee number. They weren't very expensive but they sure look classy. Anyway, I just wanted to share -this stuff is awesome!

I thought I'd resurrect this thread because of an email I got this morning... I thought this was really cool!! I don't know how much they cost or anything, but I know that I would've loved this as a kid.

I'm too lazy to paraphrase, so I'll copy & paste:

Many of you have seen 'My Very Own Name' and 'My Very Own Fairy Tale' books by I See Me, Inc. I LOVE these books and often send them for new baby gift's, birthdays and holidays! Some of you have received this book from us already :-) The illustrations are fantastic and the books are personalized with the child's birthdate and full name. Emma just loves seeing her name spelled out in a book.

You all know how non-'salesy'I am but I love these books so much that I have decided to sell them. What does this mean for you? Every time you order a book, you will get FREE SHIPPING (usually $6.95). Just use the code fsd12525 at checkout. Check out the website: I See Me! Personalized Children's Books for New Baby and Birthday Gifts. Feel free to send along to family and friends if you wish.
