Secret Santa/White Elephant Anyone?

So the holiday season is almost upon us... I know some of you have probably already started shopping for gifts and/or lights for the house. I will be starting that this week! [img]images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

but with the holidays comes the opportunity to send secret/playful/useful gifts to people you know and like.

At my office at work, we do a secret Santa and a White Elephant gift exchange. Would anyone be interested in doing either or both of these types of fun gift exchanges?

Secret Santa would work like this:
Give me your name & address and 3 things you would like to receive this christmas, all in different price ranges -> minimum $20, maximum $50. keep in mind that you might not get what you want on your list, but the "3 things" list is an opportunity to let your secret santa know what you would like, if they could get it for you....

I'll put all the names in a hat and have doug draw names. I'll keep tabs of who has whose name and doug will keep tabs for my name (cuz, like yeah.. i wanna play too [img]images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]).. I'll PM the "3 things" list and address to you once we draw names.

What you'll do is send your gift to the address I give you with "PF Secret Santa" as the recipient. In some cases, we might have to give out the last name in order for them to be able to receive the package (like at colleges or what not). but for all intensive purposes, we would try to retain anonimity (remain anonymous). Of course, if you want to know who your sponsoring, I can give you that info as well...It doesn't have to be secret, but it's a bit more fun that way.

White Elephant Exchange works like this:
It's kindof like a garage sale gift exchange...you draw names and give them a gift you no longer want or need in your home. I've only seen this play off as a "humor" or "useful" gift exchange - or we could play it in a way that everyone lists what they have to give (no longer want) and those in the exchange program would tell that person what they want from their list of stuff to give...

It's fun either way.. someone gets something they wanted from your home (just like shopping at a garage sale) and someone gets rid of something they no longer want....

In any case, I'll have a chatroom set up before too long and what we'll do is have a PF holiday online party ->BYOBeer, BYOCM (christmas music), BYOPopcorn... that way each can open their gift while online talking amidst the group. I haven't worked out all the holiday party details yet, but i think it could be fun!?
