Aww, thanks for asking, Jackie!

Crunch time is on in full force. We have so much to do. We're doing EVERYTHING (going the inexpensive way requires a lot of work). Plus, the bbq reception site has no electricity, so we have to be completely self-supported. We're not nervous about the wedding itself, or the big life commitment, but rather the logistics of making the bbq reception work!! 70+ guests; gobs of ice chests to keep uncooked food/meat and drinks and ice cool; serving bowls; aluminum pans to keep side dishes warm; etc .... Fiance's home for ~10 days so we've been running all around town to get all that we can get (non-perishables). The week of the wedding we'll both take off from work and get all the last minute items and perishable food.

All I can say is .... WE CAN'T WAIT FOR OCTOBER 5TH ... when its ALL OVER!!

We're pretty much coasting in now! We had everything done pretty early on, so now we're cruising in to the end. Only 3 weeks left We're finishing collecting the RSVP's and now have to put everyone into tables, get the place cards printed and we're almost done!

Everyone keeps asking if I'm nervous - the only thing I'm nervous about is trying to throw a party for 150+! The whole wedding, marriage, lifetime commitment thing is no big deal

I'm super excited though!! John can't wait for it to be over, I can't wait for the wedding day to experience everything that I've been planning for the last year. I am really excited though to get on with our marriage and the rest of our lives

Great attitude! That is pretty much how I looked at it. The commitment/marriage part was the easy part. Dealing with family and friends and being the center of attention was harder to me. DH and I got married on a pier in Lake Tahoe with immediate family only and did the reception when we returned. It worked out well for us. I hope your day is all you want it to be!

Good luck with all your last minute preparations! It is more work to go the inexpensive route, but it makes it special, too. DH and I chose a restaurant that was full service, but did all the decorations ourselves--including flowers. We even made chocolate candies with the candy molds that were a bride and groom and a chocolate plaques that said "Thank you for sharing our day." It will come and go before you know it! I hope you have a very special day!

My DF and I are having ours at a restaurant as well. What did you do for your centerpieces? I'm not hiring a florist or decorator, so we're doing it all ourselves! We have a while, and most major things planned, except the flowers and decorations. It's a winter wedding in Feb.

My brother got married in February in a restaurant in OH. Given the high potential of bad winter weather, they had the ceremony and reception all in the same place. It turned out really nice, and convenient.

Our tables are long skinny picnic tables under a pavilion, so we have 2 different center pieces. One is for munchies: a tin/aluminum pail filled w/ miniature candy. One is for decoration: a tin/aluminum pail filled 1/2 way w/ sand and then a candle placed on the sand. It may be hard to visualize, but we assembled one the other day and it looks cute. Its definitely not fancy ... but rather rustic.

I think the do-it-yourself route is awesome. It makes every piece of the wedding that much more special.

Good luck, ladies! Take lots of pics for us.

Melissa, I am a coordinator, what are your colors? And what type of theme are you going for? By theme, I mean, casual, or fun, or more serious, you want your centerpieces to reflect the attitude you want for your wedding. Something that means something to you. If not then you just have flowers that don't mean much. In February you can have a very exquisite wedding that is very elegant or something very laid back and sweet, because of Valentines Day. So it depends on what you want.
