Congratulations to you and your fiance! I know you must be so happy to be engaged. My husband and I dated since middle school so 10 yrs felt like forever, even though we already felt married in many ways. It's great that you like to keep things simple because that eliminates so much stress from the big day. I went with a small wedding chapel because they can do pretty much everything for you for a reasonable price. It also limits the number of guests allowed to attend. This helped me out oodles when my mother-in-law wanted the total guest list to include about 200 and I only wanted a little over 50, lol. She cried to my husband, but at least we reached a compromise of 100, the max seating limit! The hardest thing for me was actually dealing with family and in-laws. Just make sure that no one bullies you into doing anything. This sort of thing seems to happen with weddings a lot.

One thing that my husband really liked, where the photos that his father took of me with an airplane. I felt really goofy walking through the regional airport in my wedding gown and then posing with the airplane. The guys that worked there were looking out the windows, lol. My father-in-law had me climb up and stand on the wing. I was so frightened of ruining my dress but the photos turned out lovely. They enlarged one and kept it covered until the reception, where they surprised my DH. He was really excited over it, and it made a nice conversation piece for the other pilots there. Good memories...
