| Congrats! We got married at the end of April and I am loving it! Even after 8 years, reckon you'll be surprised how different it feels! Good luck with the planning - just remember (as my grandmother reminded me) - it's more important to do the planning for a marriage than it is for a wedding! |

| Congratulations! What a romantic setting and romantic story! Having just celebrated #28, I can say marriage is great (if it's with the right person)! Angela gives great advice about the wedding. Don't let the issues with planning the wedding let you lose sight of the big picture. |

I'm not sure what date you were thinking in December, but may I suggest New Years Eve? DH and I were married on New Years Eve 1995. We celebrated with our friends and family into the New Year and it was so much fun. Even after almost 12 years of marriage we still get people talking about our wedding and wishing us well with phone calls and such on our anniversary. Why?? Because our guests can't forget where they were on New Years Eve. (a side note...your husband will not forget your anniversary date either ) So that's my 2 pennies worth. I do agree with the other girls though, keep it simple and plan for the marriage not necessarily the "wedding".![]() Congratulations again!

I kept writing lists, and my Sister-in-law bought me a wedding planning note book, really great idea, I wrote everything in there. Had cut outs of dresses flowers and designs I liked. I think if I'd had longer to plan I would've gone way over the top ![]() An imprtant thing to rememeber is that it's yours and your fiance's day. So agree on the kind of wedding that you'd like and enjoy the planning and day!!!

| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | Thanks for all the great advice. We are really simple people. We don't want a huge wedding. We want the people who are really close to us on a daily basis and that's it. We figure we will invite about 60-65 people. eastbayk- I have no idea exactly where in the bay area yet. Anywhere in SF, san mateo county, marin, napa? I would love suggestions! Let me know when you get a chance.

We used a lot of symbolism because that is what the whole thing seems to be about. Go with what is important to you. For example, our grandparents had wonderful marriages so we set up a table with their wedding picts. They now hang in our hallway with a framed invite from our ceremony. I also decided to be done with everything Friday nite. I assigned the ceremony to my oldest sister and the reception to my next sister (who was a head banquet waitress in another life). Any questions after midnight friday were directed to them. This way, I just enjoyed the day -I didn't even know we almost ran out of food! DH and I also met late friday night and shared a quiet hour or so in a friends hot tub. It was a great way to reconnect and focus on our vows the next day. I loved our wedding and I'm so glad we did it. We have such great memories from it. Have fun and congrats! Jackie -going on 8 years of marriage for us (12 total)! WOW

| Congratulations! Astoria - finally, someone on this site was in my neck of the woods! I hope you had nice weather while you were there! Enjoy planning your wedding! The wedding isnt about just the "big day" but the whole journey to get there. Make sure your planning is enjoyable and memorable! |
