Wow! Thank you all for all the congratulations (some even with visuals )! It was really romantic and Oregon is BEAUTIFUL! He had this whole trip planned and wouldn't tell me where we were going. We drove (took 12 hours) to a city called Astoria (The Goonies was filmed there). Anyway, he had this really cute hotel all picked out that sat on The Columbia River and the room faced the river so boats would go by and you could watch them. I was grouchy after sitting in the car for 12 hours. Then I took a bath and when I was done he said some sweet things and took me out on the deck to "take a picture". Then he got down on one knee and proposed. I was so shocked. Like Chi said, it does feel like we are married and I have access to everything, so he was really sneaky in planning the whole thing. We are really excited! Anyway, I am aiming for a wedding this dec on our 9 year anniversary. Short time to plan. Any advice??

What a wonderful trip and suprise! I am impressed that he planned it and made your engagement special for you.

Congrats!! Happy wedding planning.

Advice: I planned our wedding in six months. I kept it small, elegant and made sure that we would have fun and enjoy the day. My friends and family really pulled together and helped me. If I had a friend that was willing to do something - I let them. I actually knew few details, because I let other people do what they were best at and trusted them. It worked out great. I did not sweat the details and was very touched by the very speical things that people did for us.
