| I've been looking all over the internet for one of these groups and am so excited that I've found this one! I'm 32 and the wife of a first officer for pacific jet. I've got 2 boys, one 5 and the other is 14 months. Right now, we're (the boys and I) are living in Texas while my husband is living in CA. I'm here trying to sell our house (please pray for me!!!). We've been apart since May 03 when he got the job. He was furloughed for 2 years so this job is a huge blessing for us. Anyways, enough about me. I'm so excited to be joining this group. It's nice to be able to talk to other pilots wives. My friends try but they just don't understand what it's like. |

| It's very stressfull!! I try not to let it consume me but it's very hard! I'm always watching the neighboorhood to try and catch people looking at houses. I know I'm driving my realtor nuts but hey, that's what she's there for! Good luck with your house! Are you excited about moving? Florida is beautiful!!! |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I am very excited. I don't care for Utah but sadly my dh loves it and will miss it terribly. Oh well. We have to sell without a realitor or we will have to pay to sell it, so that is not helping. The first week that I had it up we had fliers going like crazy and people were checking it out on it's website. Now nothing, which tells me the people that took the fliers were likely just nosey neighbors. So hopefully someone will come along soon. If it takes too long we'll have to go another route and I really don't want to. |

| I will be praying that your house sells! Unfortunately for us the housing market in north Texas has pretty much come to a standstill. We've had ours on the market since before may and have dropped it significantly! We're now at the point that we just don't care anymore, we'll pay someone to take it off our hands!!! We just want to be together as a family again. We've come up with an alternative plan. The kids and I are going to move out to LA mid November and I'll come back every other month to work for 4 weeks to pay the mortgage. I have to come back so my MIL can watch the boys and I cannot get a nursing license in CA that quickly. Anyhow, good luck with your house! I'm sure the Utah market is better than it is here. I'm just so tired of being away from my husband and my kids really need to be with him more, right now we're seeing him about 4-6 days once/month and that's it! I will keep you in my prayers! |

| You may have already considered this, but have you thought about renting your house? It could allow you to relocate sooner and the real estate market will pick back up eventually... Though I've never done it, I've heard that if you hire a good rental manager (who will typically charge 10% of your rental price) that renting out your house can be pretty painless. |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I feel bad for you Lisa! It's got to be tough to be away! Corbin was considering ATP but it would mean him being gone 90 days straight and I said no way. As far as renting, that's a tough decision. In our are the market is also at a standstill. Construction only takes about 90 days so people are opting for building it the way they want it for the same price. We could not rent ours for what our payment is because of how many college apts there are for way less. We also would not rent to a family because my mom has a house here that she did a lease option on and moved to FL. Her house is now completely destroyed. It will need about $40K to fix it, and that is NOT an exaggeration. It was a family of 6, plenty or room, good income, drive Lexus's etc. Didn't think they would be a problem at all. Well the house is a disaster, they are about $5K behind on rent, and they have been weaseling their way through for about 3 years now. My mom can't just kick them out because she doesn't have the money to repair it so that some one else can buy it. She has a better chance of having some income letting them stay there and continue to runi it further. Anyway, I know ALL situations don't turn out like that, but I would think really hard about what you have to lose before taking that option. |

| I agree with you, renting would make me to nervous. Besides, no one would pay the rent that we would need to pay the mortgage on this place, it'd be way to high when they can rent an apt. or smaller house for less than half of what we would need. I'm scared that they'd wreck the house also. In my previous neighboorhood there was one house being rented and they didn't take care of that house at all. Same deal, really nice family etc., they just didn't care for the house and it definately showed. I just keep praying that a buyer will come along soon so this can be over with. It's got me nervous to ever buy again because I don't ever want to get into this situation again!!! My husband is due home this thursday for 6 days though!!! We are so excited about that!! The last time he was home was mid sept. for 4 days. I try and enjoy every moment when he's here, it definately makes me treasure the time we have all the more! |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Maybe I oughta get some time away from my hubby. It might perk my libido up, lol. I don't think we wil own again for a LONG time. At least not until we are sure we will be in an area for several years, and we have enough money that we could take a low price on the house. |

| I agree with you totally! It's going to be awhile before I can be talked into buying again. I'm going to be taking a hit on this house if we ever get to sell it! I just don't want to ever be in this situation again where we're apart because of a darn house! About perking up your libido, let me tell you something, there's nothing like being apart to do that to your marriage!!! I cannot wait for him to get home, sometimes we barely make it out of the airport!!! It has definately spruced up our love life!!! |
