Default Hello from Anchorage

My name is Lisa and my partner Jeffrey is a pilot with FedEx, he has been flying for them for over nine years now. I live in Anchorage and he is domiciled in Subic Bay right now. The FedEx base is moving to Hong Kong later this year and he will be stationed out of Anchorage in 2009. I have three lovely boys, one is four months old so I am quite busy when Jeffrey is away, which can be anywhere from two to six weeks at a time. I was so happy to have found this site and look forward to sharing and learning from all of you.

Woweee! Alaska! Very very cool. And your partner is gone 2-6 weeks!?!?!? Goodness, that sounds just awful. You're an amazing trooper.

We have friends that were in the coast guard in Kodiak. The lived on their small sail boat. Abou1 1.5 years ago they set sail from Kodiak to Mexico. They stopped in Monterey on their way down -- so cool.

So welcome to jetgirls. We live near Monterey and fiance flies for Mesaba (Northwest) in the CRJ900.

Welcome to the site! I went to Anchorage with Kristie (the owner/mod of this site) a few years ago and we had a BLAST there! We went when it was light out almost 24 hours! I can't wait to visit again.

I had the pleasure of living in Kodiak from 1994-1997, it was a wonderful experience and the area is so beautiful. The Coast Guard has a large station there and they were such a great part of the community. It really is a special experience to be surrounded by such natural beauty. I miss it still. Thank you for the greeting.
Anchorage is my home town and I love it here also.

My grandparents moved to Anchorage in 1954. I was actually born in the state of Georgia while my mother was visiting family. I have only known Alaska as my home. It's the place that I feel most grounded. We actually live in a community outside of Anchorage called Indian. We have the Chugach mountains behind us and Turnagain Arm in front of us. We are very blessed to live where we do and have such respect for the our surroundings. It's a place I suggest everyone vist at least once. Thanks again for the warm greetings.
