Hello everyone...new here just wanted to say hello ! My name is Shannon, me and my dh have 2 kids and live in Saint Augustine, FL. My dh commutes to Oakland, CA with Southwest. Prior to SWA Dh flew for Chautauqua for 7 years. We have never moved to any of dh's bases and thank goodness because he's had a bunch. I have lived in Jacksonville (just north of us) since I was 9 years old so this is really home to me. I met DH right after he graduated Embry Riddle in Daytona. Dh & I have been married 7 years and our son is 5 1/2 and our daughter is 2 1/2...oh!!! we also have 2 furry kids (dogs). I work PT as a nurse a couple days a week. So..anyways...that's a little bit about me :-)

Welcome!

My DH is in the "pool" waiting for a class date with Southwest. He is currently a CA for ExpressJet (been there since 99) and he is based in EWR. We live in NH with our new baby boy! I am a teacher but I am staying home for the next year to be with Jack.

I bet you can't wait until DH can hold MCO as his base! We are not looking forward to commuting from NH out west, we are assuming he will be in OAK or Vegas for a while.....we hope to get BWI eventually, or MCO and move back down to Florida. We both graduated from Florida Tech and loved it down there....but we would really miss NH (we both grew up in New England and our family is all here).

First, your baby boy is adorable ! That's great the your dh is in the pool...do you know where he stands? They have 3 classes scheduled for April so that will help him move closer. Yes, MCO would be a DREAM ..the OAK commute is very hard ..leave a full day head and get home the day after. Regardless, we love SWA and the benefits are unbelievable. Thanks for the welcome and good luck to your DH for a class date!

Hey Shannon! Great to have ya here.
My hubby and I live over in Panama City, FL and he grew up in St. Augustine.He just upgraded as to Capt with ASA and is based in ATL. His dad, stepmom, and 2 brothers still live there! So we are over there from time to time. We were actaully planning on going over next weekend since Bill will be on vacation. Bill proposed to me at Old City House restaurant downtown.. love that place! What part of St. Augustine do you guys live? His family moved from Palencia to,,,,,,, oh gosh,, whats that neighborhood near the World Golf Village,,,, actaully it's part of The World Golf Village I think,, cant remember the name right now,,,, anyway,,, Nice to meet you!!

Thanks for the welcome...Wow...lots of FL members here! I know exactly where you are talking about we are fairly close to the World Golf Village. We live off CR210 which is one exit from World Golf and not far from Palencia either. CR 210 is the area where South Hampton, Cimarrone golf etc... are located. My sister lives in the World Golf area...King & The Bear golf area. Where did your dh grow up exactly? small world. We built our home 3 yrs ago prior to that we live in Mandarin which is an area of Jax that's very close to St. Aug. We are in the Old Town area a lot...we still cannot get enough.

Im not exactly sure where he grew up and what highschool he went to etc. I'll have to ask him. I do know that he lived on St. Augustine Beach for quite sometime though. HIs family has been in the car business there for a long time. You may have bought a car from them one time or another!
