Default Hello from Dubai

Hello Ladies,
I am new to this site and wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Bonnie, and my husband a first officer for Emirates Airline. He is based in Dubai and flying the 777-300ER. Prior to moving to Dubai we were living in Atlanta where he was a captain for ASA and I was employed with Delta. I am very excited to chat with others that can relate to the up and downs of being a pilots wife.

Hi Bonnie!

how do you like Dubai? we're thinking of going there for vacation before it ends up being to "heady"....

how does your DH like Emirates? I've heard a lot about them but not from the pilots themselves as to how they like working for the airline...

so what do you do over there to keep yourself busy?

welcome!

Hello! How does your DH like Emirates Airlines? My Dh is always toying with the idea of applying to them. But, I guess he isn't sure about living in Dubai. How do you like it there?

Welcome to the board and I hope you like it here.

Welcome to the site Bonnie!
Dubai looks beautiful. Do you have any children? I was wondering what the schools are like.

I love it here. The weather is very very hot in the summer but, everything is air-conditioned. I am still fairly new here so I am still exploring my new home. Dubai if very social.....There are lots of clubs and groups.

DH is loving the aircraft and his destinations. It is a lot more more work and longer flights but, all in all he is enjoying it. My father-in-law flew for Emirates years ago so I think it is a pride thing as well.

We do not have any children but, several of our friends here do. They have not said anything negative.

I hope I have not missed any of the questions!

I knew I would miss something. The schools: There are several schools here including the American School of Dubai. There are no public schools here and please don't quote me but, every school has some sort of waiting list. I hear all the moms talking about choosing a school that is tailored to the British system or the American. There are lots of choices and I guess it is a personal preference.

Hi Bonnie! We almost went to Dubai too, my DH also applied to Emirates, but he took Cathay instead because of my Hong Kong links. Although I wouldn't have minded following him to Dubai either, Dubai sounds great!
