Smile Anyone else from Missouri?

Hi! Thought that I would introduce myself, seeing that this website might be helpful to me. My name is Kristine, and my husband is a F/O with Trans State based out of St. Louis. We have been together for almost eight years, and come this May, we will be married for one year. I have one major question though, does it get better with time, being the wife or spouse of a pilot?

Well, I'm positive that I'll be spending a lot of time in MO, as my Hubby just passed the TSA interview...

I am curious to know, as well, what you mean about does it get better? So far, I am thinking it's pretty good! (And, no my Hubby hasn't started with the airline yet, but he was gone already for several months at a time...)

Hello and Welcome! At times it seems like it gets better with time, but for us, we are still in the first steps of being with an airline, not even a year, so for BF and myself what a roller coaster ride! Aside from the craziness of aviation, we seem to be surviving!

Great to have you here!

Hi Kristine and welcome to the site!
This is a great place to get support if you need it.
I don't think it's "easy" having a relationship with a pilot since you have to do some things on your own (like today when I had to deal with a major plumbing issue) and sometimes he misses birthdays and holidays. I don't know, I've been with Nick for 5 1/2 years and just accept it and know I would never give up my relationship in a million years! I am also pretty independent so I am OK with my alone time. As for his career, when we met he was a flight instructor making $14k/yr and now he is a 757 FO for Continental so in that respect, yes it got "better" (if you're talking schedule, money, togetherness).
Anyway, let us know what's on your mind.

Hi!
I'm from STL and my boyfriend just got hired by republic airways. We won't be moving for a while, so for the time being we're just going to have to deal with the commute.

Nice to see that there are other girls in STL in the same boat as me!

Hi Kristine, Welcome to the site.
My husband flies private/charter out of the spirit of st. louis airport.
We've been married for 3 years, and as far as "does it get better?" it's still hard and i miss my dh when he's gone, but I think that recently i have started enjoying my time on my own more.
