| Hello ladies! I'm another clearly new member. My husband, Jeff, has been flying since he was just 16 years old. He hales from an aviation family. Dad is retired NWA, mom will soon be a retired F/A (we'll try not to hold that against her..), Jeff's bro is currently flying for Express Jet. Jeff has spent the last 7 years climbing the ranks at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. I met him when he was a fairly new, lowly flight instructor shortly after 9/11. We waited for the industry to turn around in Florida, which allowed Jeff to get his (paid for, thank you ERAU) MBA and get a position as a manager. Now that things are looking up again, we are hopeful that Jeff's next position will be flying for NetJets. This weekend he actually flew a seminole up to Chicago in order to earn some much needed instrument time (he flew under a hood the whole time, poor guy). He's now 9.2 hours from applying. We have lots of "friends" there (including FIL) - so we're very hopeful that by the summer he will be employed. The long term goal is management, after he gets some experience. Anyhow, with all the changes happening I thought it might be nice to find some support. I have two young babies, and my main concern is how this is going to affect them (and consequently me). I'm a pretty independent sort - and I've actually REALLY enjoyed some long overdue "me" time (tough to get with a hubby and two kiddos). I'm finding that I'm a-ok when Jeff is gone and the kids are asleep...not so much the truth when the children are climbing the walls. Looking forward to being a part of the group.

| Hey Again Hollee!! Sounds like you all are an aviation family! I am at Riddle too, but p/t just taking one class these days. I am at another school going full time to knock out an associates degree in ultrasound tech, which I am loving! so we can be more comfy with a second salary again and then once that happens I hope to return to Riddle and chip away on my Safety Science degree. SOOOO expensive that ERAU we had to triage other expenses right now! ![]() Wishing you and husband success with NetJets. It is a wonderful place to be. My husband knows some folks there as well, and our neighbors son works there in Ohio for operations or something and loves it. I miss my husband very much when he is away! Though I agree I can get caught up on alot, but 3 days I am usually good. This blog is a wonderful source of support for all those things! P.s I'll let you slide this once but don't say too much about f/a's...there are a few ex f/a's within JetGirls! I am a " retired " one myself..that's how my Husband and I met. ![]() |

| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | Hi Hollee- hopefully you meant no harm about "lowly" flight instructors too! I met Nick when he was a flight intructor (and career changer) in 2002. I never thought of him as lowly, just trying to get experience so he could move onward! He was hired at a regional (Mesa) and worked there 3 years and got hired at CAL last year. He just passed the 1 year mark! Nick and I lived in AZ when we met (on a commercial USAir flight) but now moved back east to PA when he learned he would be based in EWR. He's not a fan of commuting. Welcome!

| Jetgirls Member | Welcome aboard! DH graduated from ERAU Daytona 100 years ago and worked charters for Vintage out of NSB for several years before and after he and I met. We lived in NSB and Pt Orange before PDT took us back to my home state of NC! This board is great! You'll enjoy it! Again, welcome! ![]()
