| Let me introduce myself. I am a mother of 2 children, ages 3 and 5. We have just spent 10 years living in Australia and have recently moved to Canada (my home country). Dave, my hubby left the aussie airforce as a hornet pilot and now has a new job flying freight with Cathay out of JFK (yes...our life is very interesting to say the least). He has only started his first month, so I am still anxiously awaiting the start of some regularity in our lives (or maybe there is no such thing as a pilots wife). He has only just returned from 5 months training in HKG. It has been great to have my family here thats for sure. I am not sure what I would have done without the support. Heres a question for all you partners....is it easy to hold down a job with kids and hubby being away often? I look forward to chatting to you all. Beck |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Hi Beck! Welcome to the board. I can't speak for the kids portion of the question, but I wonder the same thing. Right now I work a full time career as a research meteorologist for the Navy. My Fiance is a 1st year FO for Mesaba. Until he climbs some serious ranks, we will need both incomes to make any kind of a normal living out here in California. But once kids come into the picture, I'm not sure how we'll juggle time and finances. Ideally, I'm hoping for a supportive employer that will allow me to work from home. ![]() |
