Nice one-- touche!
You fit right in here on the board!

P.S. I work in finance (no English major here!)

Ohmigosh, please don't say that. I would really prefer to not be the newbie who stormed onto the forum and "owned" the people she was looking to make friends with

why did you take that so literally? when someone says pwnd or own3d (esp with the spelling), it's typically known as a form of humor and even the smiley shows laughter. no disrespect intended.

in fact, i'm really laughing at Amanda cuz she tried and got pwnd...her and I go way back so she knows my sense of humor.

No, no, I know what it means. Just that know-it-all-grammar-girl wasn't really the image I was looking to project right off the bat, lol.

The ladies on here are pretty laid back, so i don't think you need to worry about anything like that!! in fact, some of us might welcome the knowledge...you never know?!

we all just learned that "for intensive purposes" (obivously wrong) is really "for intents and purposes"..i mean i didn't even know that till lately...i think when someone says it, they say it so fast, you can't even tell. HAHA

If you find it bothering you too much, it's pretty easy to start changing the subject around here

I mean we could start talking about which state you liked best?

Kristie... it's "for all intents and purposes"!
jeesh.

And I don't even want to talk about "anyways" vs "anyway".
(say it the 2nd way)
