Default New to the site moving to Dallas soon

Hi all!
I'm new to the website and just wanted to see what was going on. I have been with my boyfriend fo 5 years who now flys corporate. I know most everyone is airline, but anyone have any experience with corporate pilots? I currently live in West Palm Beach Florida and he lives in Dallas Texas. I will be moving to Dallas in Feb.
Just wanted to say hi and get to know everyone!

Hey there and welcome! We live in Charlottle and BF flies with American Eagle...before that we did the corporate thing for awhile...he was flying for a previous student of his that did real estate here in the Carolinas...he's doing the airline thing for hours and experience, but would really like to stick with corporate...

My fiance is in the same boat. He landed a right seat corporate job in a King Air 200 w/ pretty low time (right out of CFI). He really liked that gig, as he'd always wanted to be corporate rather than airline. But the company sold the plane and he quickly realized he did not have enough time for any other company's insurance. So he bit the bullet and applied to a regional. If he likes it he'll stick it out. If not, he'll accrue enough time to be insurable and begin looking again in the corporate world.

Welcome Brandi!

I'm in the position where I have been around from day 1. He always wanted to go airline, but when he moved to Dallas to learn King Air at Flight Safety, he started to get curious in the corporate world. The problem is the owner of the jet has moved the plane 3 times to 3 different companies. Of course both the captain and my boyfriend move companies with the owner with usually some type of perk with the new company. He's got 2300+ hours now and would like to stay corporate. It seems ok except the whole thing about they have 5 solid days off a month, but if a trip comes up, they usually are called off of their "days off" to fly. I guess it comes with the job. Its never going to stop is it? I just am going to have to accept it and roll with it. But it seems to be enjoyable! Thanks for welcomes! Look forward to talking with everyone!

Hi Brandi!
I've been with my guy since the beginning too. Thankfully he never did corporate- I would hate if he was constantly on-call! I like knowing when he will and will not be home so I can planahead a bit.
This is a great place for support!

Welcome! This is a great place as everyone else has mentioned.
My SO took a job a couple of months ago flying private jets. So far he loves it and I will be relocating as well to be with him in a couple of months.
I can't wait!

Hi Brandi! My husband is an 8th year CA with NetJets... while they are technically fractional they have strong similarities to corporate. He used to fly cargo in his early days to build hours and then moved into NetJets from there. We LOVE NetJets and plan to NEVER leave. The company is fabulous, the clients are phenomenal, the pay is outstanding, and the pilots are treated very well (esp now that their new contract has been passed). We have friends who fly private corporate for Crown and also seem rather happy!! We highly recommend the corporate and fractional world of aviation as our experiences have been wonderful!!! Good luck on your move to Dallas!!! Happy New Year!!!

Hi Brandi- I have a very close friend who's hubby flies corporate out of Anaheim CA. THeir family life is miserable simply because he has ZERO time off. Here's the upside,, he makes a boat load of $$$. 100K plus but with zero time to enjoy it. They have three children and she is actually a pilot too. Just starting with Great Lakes. FOr families... that's gotta be pretty rough. In the airlines, at least there is somewhat of a "schedule" but it's kinds like taking the good with the bad. I hope it works out for you both.

BTW,,, welcome!
