| Hello! I'm Amelia. Its nice to see another VA (I grew up in Herndon) and Independence Air person on here. My DH and I both used to work there. That where we met also. I was a F/A from 2002-2004. I left just before we got married. My DH was a CRJ FO in IAD from early 2001 until he got furloughed in early 2005. He was forced to stay with the regionals since he didn't have any PIC time from ACA/Indy. He is now at Skywest. He is a CRJ CA (finally ) based in ORD and we live in Denver. I am a stay at home mom to our 2 kids....but I really miss flying.Welcome, hope you like it here.

| Hey everyone! Thanks so much for the welcome. It's great to know that you all are here! After reading many of the posts, I realized that I'm not crazy and we all have a lot in common. I look forward to getting to know all of you......and yes to those of you who have some skin care questions--and hair removal--I will be happy to help!! P.S. Anyone living in the PA area? |

Nick used to live in Reston (near Lake Anne) when he was working for the pitiful airline Mesa (flying out of IAD). Now we are part of the CAL family and we are VERY happy! When we met we were both in AZ (I was there 8 years) and we had the pleasure of meeting the owner of this board Kristie, and her hubby Doug. When Nick got hired at CAL in January 07 we talked about moving back to the east coast to be closer to his base- EWR. Since we are both from the east coast and the company I work for is based here, it was what we did. I still miss AZ terribly, but I was able to get a promotion here and Nick has a 1.5 hr commute. He doesn't mind since he only drives to NJ and back 1 or 2x/week. My sis is in Upper Montclair NJ (35 min from EWR), so he can stay there in a pinch. We are living in King of Prussia which is where I grew up. I have my old friends to pal around with and family too. I like King of Prussia since we are only 25 minutes from center city Philadelphia and we are central to a lot of main highways (so we can get to DE or MD easily). We are in a rental townhouse but we're going to look for a house to buy this Spring. We thought about Allentown but there's just not enough to do there, I like being near a big city like PHL, and my job keeps me in this area (I have a 25 min commute!). It's good to see another CAL person on the board- there are a few of us! I met Rebecca and Mike at a MD meet & greet and they are great! I hope we get to meet you too!

| James and I live on Lake Anne now! We are iin a condo in the high rise right on the water. Where did Nick live? I look forward to meeting you guys some day and Mike and Rebecca are good friends of ours--Mike has known James for over ten years. We need to move closer to EWR, though-- James hates commuting and I am ready to leave N. VA. I grew up in Northern CA and miss it too. My family is all there and the commute to there is a tough one when I want to visit. I go to Sacramento, CA via IAH and it's a gamble 1/2 the time. Anyway, making friends always helps and especially ones w/pilots as their S/O. No one can understand what it's like unless they experience it for themselves--like anything else. I will have to tell you guys about what some of my clients have said to me when I was an esthetician at a spa....and people I worked with. Last edited by angela; 12-08-2007 at 10:18 AM. |
