Hi! My name is Rhonda and my DF is Scott. Scott and I met through the internet 6 years ago. We are still apart but for just a while longer. Scott has always wanted to be a pilot, but due to situations in his life, he was not able to. I finally told him to "Just do it!". It's the one thing *other than me of course

* that makes him happy. So he will be moving to Indiana with me in the next few months and finally going back to flight school. I am so excited for him. I vowed to do everything in my power to make sure this happens for him. He is a wonderful man. He deserves all the best.

As for me, I just got back from Oregon *where DF lives* and I'm now looking for work here. Wish me luck.

I found this site because I was looking for ways to cope with DF's inevitable absence. This is a wonderful site. Although, since DF and I have braved a long distance relationship for 6 yrs. and made it work, then I think we are gonna be fine in that department. But, it will be nice to be able to talk to other women who are missing theirs

I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys.

DH/SO: Girlfriend to soon-to-be Freightdog for AMF
Kids/Pets: No kids or pets yet, though I want kids and absolutely adore animals, I grew up with a "zoo" of pets!
Occ/Interests: I'm a geologist, as well as a computer geek - I love playing games! I also love hiking and photography, and to travel!
Situation: BF is soon to be off to training for up to 6 weeks in LA - it'll be a hard month and a half

OCC/Interests: RN, CRNP and assistant professor at local college. Love to travel when it is possible (SA can be hard when the only time off is during peak travel time). Have two cats and rescue greyhound. Try to be active, have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and now trying to run more. Like to Snowboard in winter. Other interests are movies (big horror fan) and reading books (stephen king fan)

DH: Kevin FO on lear 31 for Pinnacle Air. Together for 7 years, Happily Married for 5 years on Oct 19th despite both our families saying we wouldn't make it and disowning us.

Kids/Pets: Obviously by my name, I have kids 3 boys and they all play soccer, CJ will be 13 on Oct 16(Member of Civil Air Patrol, planning on flying soon), Damian was 10 on June 16, and Brendan who just turned 6 on Aug. 16. Yep, that is right all born on the 16th and not a one planned that way. We also have to Pomeranians, Cupid and Venus, and a Congo African Grey, Eros. We are also hosting an exchange student from Germany this year

Occ/Interests: Right now, I am a SAHM. But I hate it. I am very used to being extremely busy with something. My kids are all in school so for 6 hours a day I am bored out of my mind. DH had the great idea of me working at the FBO across the street from us so I applied today...we will see. I think he is working the angle of me getting him a contract job over there by talking to them. LOL!

Situation: Kevin has been a pilot for 20 years, not had a lot of luck though until he met me that is... everyone told him I would ruin his career but in the time he has known and been married to me he has had the best career advancement because I am awesome. No, I have worked in Career placement for many years and know about resumes, interviewing, etc. LOL! We met in 2000 at a concert, while he was unemployed. I thought he worked at the radio station where I wanted the job. Well, his friend did. I didn't get a job, but did get a boyfriend. He got a job in FL a week later and left me back in ole IN. About a week later, I moved down with him. A year later we had a son and a year later we got married. In the process, his family disowned him and my mother no longer has much to do with me. My older two boys father passed away so Kevin has been a wonderful father to them.
We have lived everywhere, FL, NC, VA, NM, and now TX! I love TX and Kevin will have to get a heck of a job for me to leave here.

Ok, probably more than you want to know so I will stop! LOL!

DH: John David, FO for CommutAir in CLE. Just got transferred from PBG and hoping for upgrade in a few months. John David is my best friend and we have been married for 4 yrs. I am very proud of him and everything he as accomplished already and know that there is much more to come.

Kids/Pets: One DD, Chloe`, who is 2 yrs old. No pets but my DD and I want a dog to keep us company and give protection when DH is away!

Occ/Interests: SAHM now, used to work in the daycare field. I make bows, I am trying to learn how to sew. Travel, being with family and friends.

Situation: We just moved to CLE. We lived in PBG for a year and were born and raised in TX. We left TX in 2006 for CommutAir. Not sure when we will go back to TX. We are hoping when DH gets on with mainline CAL that we can stay in CLE, but have heard that CLE is pretty senior.

Kids/Pets: not yet ...
Occ/Interests: Research Meteorologist contractor (SAIC) for the Naval Research Lab
Situation: My honey was recently hired by Mesaba and has gone through almost all of his CRJ-900 training. They over-scheduled everyone at Bombardier and sent everyone home. So he's all but done (FAA checkride and LOFT remain) and ready to get started on his IOE! He'll be based in Minneapolis but we live near Monterey, CA. It'll be a long commute ... :-/

Kids/Pets: Two big kitties, max and Mr. Boog, each weighing in at 15 pounds.
Occ/Interests: Camera sales, which I hate. Photography I love, as soon as the hub is outta school and we move I can find a real job. I hope to start my own darkroom business someday.
Situation: DH(I don't know what that means but I think it applies) is finishing his commercial, and about to start CFI school. After instructing we are planning a move to wherever his job may take him. Then I will attempt to start my career. I can't wait to use all the free travel!

i'm jen...
i've been married to jeremy (a captain for air wisconsin) for just over 5 years, we have two beautiful little girls - stella (3 1/2 years old) and cora (5 months old in early october)...
and
a zoo full of pets! skye (chocolate lab); jazz, jet and rain (kitties); tequila (cockatiel) and a tankful of fish (unnamed at this point)!
i found this forum while doing a search for others that are in the same boat as i am...second baby has made my husband's job so much more frustrating for me! the frustration of going back to work (full time speech-language pathologist in the schools) has made the balance of home/work very difficult! i just need some people that understand those difficulties to talk with occasionally!
don't worry...i usually am a much more positive person!
things i love: my girls, animals (obviously...), horseback riding (although that has been put on hold since the girls were born), crafting (i never have enough time), laughing with friends, working with my students, my amazing family and of course - my husband (but not his job...)!
that's me in a nutshell!
oh yeah...and i've never done this before (that sounds funny...), so be patient with me...i probably will make a lot of mistakes and i'll never be able to figure out how to get things working the way they should!

DH: BF/FO (dating for 13 months) he is recently done with training and is currently doing his IOE. We are currently living 400 miles apart.

Kids/Pets: We have no children, but we both have cats, Rascal and KeeKee.

Occ/Interests: I have a lot of interests, mostly related to entertainment and education. I love concerts, music, movies, television, and theatre. I recently graduated with my Master's in counseling so anything related to psychology and/or people fascinates me.
