| Yes folks, that's right. You heard it here first. After getting turned down for every job I've applied for since 2002, I finally got a job offer. I was offered the position of Customer Service with Tiffany & Co at their brand spankin' new location at the Fashion Mall in Indianapolis. It's not sales, I'll be working the till, doing minor repairs, engraving, watch battery replacement, etc. The job duties seem like a really great mix of people interaction and technical duties. I have to go to Parsippany, NJ for 6 days of training, and then 3 more days in New York, so that's really going to suck ass as far as the kids go. My mom's going to come down to help out for the 6 day trip, but she's not able to be here for the 3 day trip. I'm really really really scared about how I'm going to work the childcare issue. Bill says he'll watch the kids on the days he's not working, which could mean only having to find child care a 2-4 days a week, which would be great. But that means trusting him with the kids. He has 0 tolerance for frustration, and I just don't know how he'll do with the kids by himself all day. Maybe I'm making too much of it, and not giving him enough credit. Maybe he'll surprise me and be great, I dunno. Anyway, I'd be a fool not to take it and give it a try. If it doesn't work out, if the kids don't adapt well, that's okay. At least I can say I tried. Right? |
