My big announcement, I finally got a job!

It's going.

The company is fabulous, the job itself is going to be fine (I think). The only really sucky part is that I've had to spend the past week in Jersey at their packaging/repair facility for training, and then I have to go back AGAIN to NYC for more training tomorrow. This has meant having to leave the kids with Bill. Scary. My mom was with him for the long trip last week (6 days) but he'll be all alone with them this trip (3 days).

It's really going to be hard to work out the scheduling with the child care thing. I don't know if it's going to work, but we're giving it a good try.

I wish I would have seen the CBS thing the other morning! We heard all about it. I think it was related to the release of the new Frank Gehry collection that Tiffany is selling. He's a famous architect/artist, and he's done a big collection for Tiffany. It's a bit 'modern' for my taste personally, but I think it brings a whole new element to the product line. It will really bring in some new clinetele, and I think it's a great addition.

Yes, see my post #5! It was Frank Gehry. I do like some of those cuffs. And I have a pair of spiral earrings that are dead ringers for what he designed--my were created by a Philly jewelry designer. I also like the fact that they have it at all price points.

Where are you training in NYC? My sister works at Torneau in the Columbus Circle fancy mall.

I'm back in NY for my second trip, and terrified as all can be to leave Bill alone with the kids.......

But, I'm getting by. I'll be home Friday mid-morning at the latest. We're at a company office in Forest Hills today and tomorrow, then off to the flagship store on 5th Avenue for the day Thursday.

Amber, I think everything will work out just fine! time like this will give you confidence that bill can watch the kids when your needed elsewhere... at some point, you will have had to do this anyways and what better way than with a new job and new training in an area you've not been in before! it's almost like a vacation of sorts isn't it?

and I have to admit, I'm pretty jealous that you get to go to the 5th avenue store! I've not been there before....that will be thrilling, i'm betting!!

You'll do fine and the kids will be just fine too....

Trust me, this is NO vacation. I would much rather be home with my kids. I've been to NY many, many times, and it fails to impress me to a greater degree every time I'm here. I was based here for 6 months when I was recalled in 2002 before getting furloughed again. It's been hard to go through LGA again. Mercifully they brought us out on CO, NW and CHQ, so I haven't had to ride on AA again.

The flagship store is quite a sight to see though, I have to admit it. The Tiffany Diamond is on display, and the store itself is just amazing.

I had a piece of toast, two bites of eggs and a small glass of orange juice.

The day went well. VERY fast too, actually. That flagship store really is something to see.
