Talking Network JC/PF 2006 Is Reserved!

I haven't yet announced it over at Jetcareers.com yet (my DH's main aviation career website) mainly because it's been ongoing discussions till now...

But we've decided on a date/time/location for Network JC/PF 2006:

Weekend of October 26th from Thurs Oct 26th - Sat Oct 28th. The official "mingling event/party" will be on Friday October 27th at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. We reserved one of the Executive Suites which offers over 2500 sqft of space including a fridge and wet bar (no jacuzzi this time! hehe).

I do all of the coordination for the entire event for the Jetcareers crew starting around March/April since suites get booked up fairly quickly in LAS.

This year, we're holding the event from a thursday - saturday (sunday if you can handle the nonrev loads) simply because a lot of people had trouble nonrevving out & back on a friday & sunday... so we thought booking on a thursday would help people save some $$ on hotel (it's at least $50 cheaper on a nightly average) and save the hassle on nonrev issues!

Another change we're implementing is a full "party" type atmosphere...with that, we're going to be charging $20 per person for registration (we had A LOT of no shows last year)...the registration money will be used to stock a full bar with a keg/booze/non-alchoholics and some munchies...the event itself will be held from 8pm - 10pm which should get everyone revved up for doing a vegas crawl or whatever afterwards. We've found in the past that keeping it loose with a happy hour type of flair really helps ease the pain when meeting people you've met over the net, but never met in person... so we're going to stay with that method.

We will be working on offering Sim sessions again this year for anyone (pilots/spouses/sig others/friends included) that wants to know what it feels like to fly a big heavy...for the pilots, we'll probably offer free mock regional/major airline interviews that will be videotaped and critiqued (we're still working the details on that).

We had a good turnout of wives, girlfriends and partners last year (around 15-20)... so much so that I'd really like to see an even bigger turnout this year and meet some of you face to face (we've only talked on this board for years now! haha)...

The rest of the weekend is still being planned. I'm assuming like last year, there will be a meet & greet at 9FI (Nine Fine Irishmen in NYNY) but we'll see - it might be nice to do a change of venue...

Since I do most, if not all of the planning, feel free to shoot me suggestions on what you think would be fun for you girls/guys so we can make it a memorable weekend.

Registration form should be up around the 1st of June...We hope with enough notice, you'll be able to plan around scheduling easier...

Hope to see you in October!!

Please let me know if you have any questions!
