I'd prefer non obscure things in the recipe, simply because I probably don't have them!!

main dishes would be killer - i'm trying to expand my cooking skills

I <3 chocolate cake!

Hi Bethany and welcome to the crazy life of pilot wives I wondered if I could bring up a weird subject. Are you a member of PETA? You say you are a vegetarian for moral or ethical reason and is it because of animals rights and cruelty to animals? I am a member of peta, I also doante money (although not much) to other anti-cruelty to animals organizations (dogsdeservebetter.com being one) and was wondering if It was totaly bogus to supprt PETA although I eat meat? Sometimes I feel so guilty for eating meat and for supprting PETA and thier beliefs, Does that make any sense at all? My mother in law is vegetarian and laughs at me! What are your thoughts? I guess I was just looking for other peoples opinions on this.

I think to each their own, there isn't one mold to fit all people and if you like meat and choose to eat it, yet still support PETA, well, PETA should appreciate the support and use it to follow through w/ their agenda.

i would be more than happy to give you some personally tested ideas, what types of foods do you typically like? i could help you veganize things you already make if that's of interest to you, it's honestly not hard to do. also, there are tons of great websites out there that i could link you to!

hi jo, i think it's great that you support peta! i'm not a member myself, but i have donated and do support other animal rights organizations, as well. since you mentioned feeling "guilty", is it because you feel that you don't want to eat meat but continue to or strictly because you feel hypocritical in your membership with peta? i ask because i think those are two very different things. regardless, you are doing a wonderful thing by supporting peta and trying to help in whichever area(s) you can right now
