Hey, I was in WalMart last night looking for a sprinkler that went up and down and I saw this nifty little bucket with holes on the bottom for ventilation and a grill that plops on the top. It can fit about 4 hamburgers It was about 10 or 12 bucks. You can just plop that on your table and cook a portobello mushroom or something.
I'm having jumbo shrimp with garlic and other seasonings in a pouch and a side salad.
Kids will probably have hot dogs or same thing I am. Eric will be in Boston tonight.

Filet, NY strip (DH doesn't like filet???) and roasted potatoes. Not sure what else my parents might bring, but we like out meat and potatoes (unless of course I'm pregnant and can't stand meat, but no chance of that!). Happy grilling everyone!

Well, I was going to grill mussels. And I was going to grill whole wheat pizza.

But this morning on the Early Show they had the former White House chef and he made kicking good chicken. So I ground up the rub (coriander, allspice, thyme, garlic, jalapeno, cinammon, mustard, basil and ginger) and high tailed it to Whole Foods where they had chicken on sale. I rubbed it on a few hours ago--pushing some between the skin and meat. You make a sauce from mango nectar, cider vinegar, mustard, ketchup, onion, garlic, hot sauce, lemon juice, molasses, some of the rub spices. You brush it on while cooking and save some for drizzling. I'll grill up veggies and I made a Bobby Flay grilled sweet potato/scallion salad.

So, the pizza will have to wait till tomorrow! Last night we smoked St. Louis style ribs. Saturday, we planked Coho Salmon.

Boy, we're living good!

I had a lean cuisine pizza in the breakroom. Woohoo, living large.

Since Bill left today, we did our grilling last night. I marinated boneless/skiness chicken breasts in a sesame/ginger marinade and boy was it good. We also grilled shell on cajun style shrimp. The marinade for the shrimp is in a cookbook that Bill has, and it's specifically a man's cook book for the grill. Everything we have (actually HE) made has been awesome so far. I do the marinating and prep work and he does the rest when it comes to grilling. To be honest, I am scared to light the damn thing. I hate the noise it makes. Sounds like its gonna flippin blow up!

DH was flying so I went to mom's. We had chicken on the grill, mac salad, soy beans (they are so yummy if you have never had them), sweet potatos, and few other sides. I hope you get a new grill soon. We would be lost without ours. We cook on it all the time.

Girl I hate the grill too, I feel the same way. I'm always afraid of burning the house down.
